AMD's Ryzen 9000 processors, specifically the Ryzen 7 9700X, perform better on Nobara Linux 40 compared to Windows 11 24H2, showing a performance increase of approximately 5% to 10% in various games, except for World of Warcraft, which had a 2% advantage for Nobara. Applications like 7-Zip also ran faster on Nobara, and synthetic benchmarks like Geekbench reflected a similar performance increase. Phoronix.com found that the Ryzen 9700X outperformed the 7700X by a factor of 1.15, and the 9600X was 1.25 times faster than its predecessor. However, the testing was limited and conducted on a gaming-centric distribution, with Windows 11 24H2 still in preview mode, suggesting future updates may improve its performance.
