Sony released LEGO Horizon Adventures on PC, prompting performance tests due to user feedback. The testing system included an AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D, 32GB DDR5 RAM at 6000MHz, and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090, running on Windows 10 64-bit with GeForce driver 566.14. The game supports DLSS 3 Super Resolution and Frame Generation but does not support AMD FSR 3.0 or Intel XeSS. At Native 4K with Epic Settings, the game achieved 47FPS, exceeding 80FPS with DLSS 3 Quality and surpassing 120FPS with DLSS 3 Frame Generation. Adjusting settings to High maintained over 60FPS at Native 4K, with further reductions yielding better performance. High Settings provide a good balance of aesthetics and performance, with minimal visual difference compared to Epic Settings. The game features impressive graphics and a vast interactive world. It is playable at 1080p on Epic or 1440p on High with GPUs like the RTX 3080. The game does not require a high-end CPU, showing minimal CPU usage and infrequent stutters.

AMD's Ryzen 9000 series processors have received mixed reviews, with some performance issues attributed to the upcoming Windows 11 24H2 update, which is expected to improve CPU scheduling for these processors. AMD and Microsoft have backported scheduler enhancements to the existing Windows 11 23H2 version, allowing users with Ryzen 5000, 7000, and 9000 CPUs to access the KB5041587 update through Windows Update. An AMD representative stated that performance improvements should be similar between the 24H2 and 23H2 with the update installed. The update also benefits older CPUs using Zen 4 and Zen 3 architectures, although the extent of these improvements is unspecified. Early testing by Hardware Unboxed indicated an average frame rate increase of about 10% for the Ryzen 7 7700X and 11% for the Ryzen 7 9700X in gaming scenarios. The performance gap between the 9700X and the 7700X is minimal, with only a 2-3% difference at default settings. The update has improved frame rates in some games, with notable increases in FPS for both CPUs. However, performance gains may not be as noticeable at higher resolutions where the GPU becomes the bottleneck. AMD reported a 6% performance improvement in the Procyon Office benchmark under Windows 11 24H2, but no performance improvements were observed in heavily multi-threaded tasks or single-threaded workloads for the Ryzen 9000 series. The Ryzen 7 9700X's performance is limited by its lower TDP compared to the 7700X, though it remains efficient and can achieve higher speeds with adjustments. The Windows 11 24H2 update is currently available as a preview through the Windows Insider Release Preview channel and is expected to roll out generally this fall.

Ubisoft has lifted the review embargo for Star Wars: Outlaws, and 4K screenshots from the PC version running on an NVIDIA RTX 4090 at Ultra settings have been shared. The game was tested on an AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D processor with 32GB of DDR5 RAM at 6000MHz, using Windows 10 64-bit and GeForce 560.94 WHQL driver. The second CCD on the 7950X3D was disabled for optimal performance. Star Wars: Outlaws does not have a built-in benchmark tool, unlike previous Ubisoft titles, so performance was tested in a busy city area. The game supports ray-traced shadows, reflections, and NVIDIA’s RTXDI technology, with adjustable Ray Tracing BVH quality and compatibility with DLSS 3. Performance metrics showed frame rates between 75fps and 100fps at 4K/Ultra/Ray Tracing settings using DLSS 3 in Quality Mode. The review build includes Denuvo anti-tamper technology, and no stuttering issues were encountered during gameplay in the initial city area. Star Wars: Outlaws is set to launch on August 30th.

Game Science has released the action RPG, Black Myth: Wukong, utilizing Unreal Engine 5. Performance benchmarks were conducted on a setup with an AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D and 32GB of DDR5 RAM, testing various graphics cards including NVIDIA's RTX 4090 and AMD's RX 7900XTX. The game features customizable graphics settings and supports technologies like NVIDIA DLSS 3, AMD FSR 3.0, Intel XeSS, and Ray Tracing. A benchmark tool was released to help players assess their systems. Black Myth: Wukong is GPU-intensive, with the RTX 4090 achieving a consistent 60fps at 1080p maximum settings without Ray Tracing. At 1440p, it maintained similar performance, while native 4K at maximum settings struggled to reach 60fps. Performance can be improved with DLSS 3 Super Resolution and Frame Generation. At native 4K with high settings, the RTX 4090 averaged around 60fps, with occasional drops. Graphically, the game is visually impressive, featuring stunning textures and dynamic elements, but has issues like invisible walls and shader compilation stutters. Mouse movement sensitivity discrepancies and motion blur artifacts have also been noted, with disabling motion blur resolving some visual issues.
