The upcoming update for Project Zomboid, build 42.17, will enhance the sandbox experience and multiplayer gameplay with various improvements. Players can choose any 'Exclusion Zone' town as their starting point in sandbox mode, although occupational spawns are limited to four 'canon' towns. The update introduces a new selection of VHS tapes for skill training, which can be found throughout the game world. Balancing adjustments include increased points for the Smoker and High Thirst traits, a reduced cost for the Nutritionist trait, and changes to how Chefs and Farmers function. Loot drop rates for 'other loot' have been increased, and vehicles in Apocalypse mode are more likely to contain fuel. Stendo's Firearms Emporium is being updated for better consistency in store loot. A prototype feature allowing players to enable sprinters in multiplayer has been introduced, adding urgency to gameplay. The Indie Stone is also working on improving controller support based on player feedback.

Windows PCs come with tools to manage power consumption, notably the Power Settings Command-Line Tool (Powercfg.exe), which can generate a battery report. This report, saved as an HTML document, details battery usage, capacity, and historical data. Users can create a battery report by opening Command Prompt and entering specific commands. The report shows the design capacity and current full-charge capacity of the battery, helping track degradation over time. The battery report also includes usage data over the past three days, allowing users to analyze which activities impact battery performance. The Battery Life Estimates section provides insights into potential battery longevity based on usage patterns. Windows 11 allows users to check app-specific power consumption through Settings > System > Power & Battery. The Energy Recommendations checklist in Windows 11 offers energy-saving options and direct links to relevant settings. Users can adjust sleep and display settings according to their preferences. The Shutdown command can be executed from Command Prompt or the Run dialog box for transitioning between power states. The Battery Saver feature, now called Energy Saver in version 24H2, conserves battery life by disabling non-essential activities and can be manually activated.

Windows PCs have improved battery efficiency, but users with older laptops may still face battery anxiety. To extend battery life on a Windows 11 PC, users can follow these steps: 1. Generate a battery report using Command Prompt with the command powercfg /batteryreport, which provides insights into battery usage. 2. Check the battery's current capacity in the battery report, noting the design and full-charge capacities, and take measures to extend battery life. 3. Analyze battery usage over time using the battery report to identify activities that drain the battery. 4. Estimate average battery life by comparing values in the Battery Life Estimates section of the report. 5. Identify power-hungry apps by going to Settings > System > Power & Battery and checking Battery Usage Per App. 6. Use the built-in Energy Recommendations checklist in Windows 11 to find energy-saving settings. 7. Adjust sleep and display settings under Settings > System > Power & Battery to save battery power. 8. Utilize quick shutdown commands in Command Prompt for efficient power state transitions. 9. Enable the Battery Saver option in Settings > System > Power & Battery to limit background activities when battery capacity is low.
