PAX West 2025 crowns its Omegathon winner after beating everyone in Minecraft & Mario Kart World

The Omegathon at PAX West 2025 concluded with Prof.Pine, whose real name is Patrick from Shoreline, Washington, defeating TisAMystery, known as Jonathan from an undisclosed location in Nevada, in a final showdown that unexpectedly featured a Mario Kart World Grand Prix instead of Minecraft. Prof.Pine's victory earned him a ticket to attend a PAX event of his choice, while TisAMystery received automatic entry into the next year's Omegathon at PAX West 2026. PAX West will return in August 2026, and the Omegathon will appear at various PAX events leading up to that date, including PAX Australia in October, PAX Unplugged in November, and PAX East next spring.

Only one can win the Omegathon at PAX West 2025 (but there’s plenty of room for a Chicken Jockey or two in this year’s Minecraft tournament)

The Omegathon at PAX West 2025 will feature a series of rounds centered around Minecraft, taking place from August 29 to September 1, 2025. Contestants, known as Omeganauts, are randomly selected from pre-registered attendees and must respond to a call to secure their spot. The 2025 Omeganauts include participants from various locations, such as Taylor, British Columbia, and Mansfield, Ohio.
