On August 20, 2026, EnterpriseDB (EDB) announced the general availability of its Disaster Recovery feature for WarehousePG, enhancing EDB Postgres AI's analytical capabilities by enabling recovery of petabyte-scale data in minutes rather than days. This feature allows organizations to maintain a current recovery environment across on-premises, cloud, or hybrid setups, and provides flexibility in activating recovery. The implementation of Disaster Recovery for WarehousePG resulted in approximately 180 times faster recovery, with restore-point replay averaging 16 minutes, full backups decreasing from 44 hours to about 11 hours, and nearly 99% less query lock time. The recovery model was achieved without any modifications to the application architecture. WarehousePG leverages the Postgres framework for disaster recovery processes and includes built-in high availability to safeguard against component failures. The upcoming September version update will integrate Disaster Recovery configuration into WarehousePG Enterprise Manager, allowing operational teams to manage cluster health and resource utilization effectively.

Microsoft has issued an advisory to IT teams and software developers regarding significant changes in Windows code signing due to the expiration of the Windows Production PCA 2011 certificate in October 2026. The transition will involve stronger cryptographic algorithms, including RSA-3072 and SHA-384, which may cause compatibility issues for applications that rely on hardcoded certificate checks or outdated cryptographic standards. Microsoft plans to implement post-quantum cryptography by default for Windows code signing in 2027. IT administrators are encouraged to assess their software environments, confirm vendor compliance with supported trust-validation mechanisms, and ensure applications are tested against the new certificate hierarchy and signing algorithms. Organizations with private trust stores must establish processes for recognizing and deploying legitimate Microsoft certificate updates.

Microsoft has phased out support for Microsoft Defender Application Guard (MDAG), starting with its deprecation for Office applications in November 2023 and for the Edge browser in December 2023. By April 2024, MDAG was removed from Edge and other browser stores, and it was completely eliminated from Windows 11, version 24H2. Microsoft is finalizing the retirement of MDAG by discontinuing support in Edge entirely. The advisory MC1459132 indicates that this phase affects Microsoft Edge users on Windows 10, as Windows Information Protection (WIP) was already phased out in favor of Microsoft Purview in 2022. Organizations using WIP are advised to transition to Microsoft Purview Information Protection, Microsoft Purview Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Endpoint DLP, and Intune app protection policies. Users of MDAG should utilize Edge's built-in security features and consider other isolation solutions. Support for WIP and MDAG will officially end by September 2026, and functionalities related to them will stop in Microsoft Edge 154 and later versions. IT administrators are encouraged to begin migration activities to avoid disruptions.
