Free antivirus software typically comes with limited tech support, with direct assistance reserved for paying customers. Key features may be missing in free versions, such as the ability to redirect users from dangerous websites or real-time protection. Microsoft Defender Antivirus is a built-in option that activates when no other antivirus is present but can be cumbersome and has limited protection against malicious URLs outside the Edge browser. Avast One Basic and AVG AntiVirus Free are recognized as top free options, but leading commercial products like Norton AntiVirus Plus and Bitdefender Antivirus Plus consistently outperform them. Both Norton and Bitdefender offer enhanced features beyond basic antivirus capabilities. While free antivirus can be effective, paid solutions provide greater protection and peace of mind.

Google stuffs Gemini into Android Studio Panda 2 to build apps from prompts

Google has released Android Studio Panda 2, featuring an AI agent that generates applications and an AI-enhanced version upgrade assistant. This version is based on JetBrains IntelliJ IDEA's community edition. The AI capabilities are powered by Gemini, Google's large language models, with a free tier offering a lightweight version of Gemini 2.5 Pro. Users must sign into Gemini and enable AI integration, with data collection practices in place. Minecraft 26.1 Snapshot 11

The shipping room is preparing for the 26.1 snapshot, which includes various refinements, technical adjustments, and bug fixes. The trumpet note block sound assets have been updated, and the Data Pack version is now 100, with a Resource Pack version of 83. New features include a new block state provider and adjustments to block states for Banners and Signs. A new tag, #preventsnearbyleaf_decay, has been added, and various special model types have been introduced for items like Bells and Books. Block state rendering has been adjusted for consistency, and several bugs have been fixed, including issues with Endermen, dragon eggs, and various textures. Snapshots are available for Minecraft: Java Edition, with instructions for installation and backup provided.

Minecraft 26.1 Snapshot 8

Players can expect the introduction of the final baby mobs, including visual updates for pandas, hoglins, zoglins, striders, and snifflets. The Stonecutter now allows crafting of Deepslate and stone into various cobbled variants. Adult horses have updated black dot markings, and sound assets for adult variants have been enhanced. A bug related to cat variant sounds has been fixed. Hitboxes for several mobs have been adjusted to fit into smaller spaces. Operators can use Ctrl + Pick input on players and mannequins in Creative Mode. Input Method Editors will now appear above the text field in supported platforms. A new debug screen entry for memory usage has been added, and the initial heap size has been decreased to 2GB to reduce crashes. The Data Pack version is updated to 99.2, and the Resource Pack version is at 81.1. New UI sprites and entity textures for various baby mobs have been introduced. Several bugs have been fixed in the snapshot.

Minecraft has revealed its final batch of baby mobs ahead of the spring update, and they might be the cutest ones yet

Minecraft's first major update of 2026 is expected to launch within the next month and will introduce five new baby mobs, including a redesigned baby panda with a whimsical two-pixel eye design. Other new baby mobs include baby zombies, zombie villagers, and husks. This will be the final set of baby mobs revealed before the update, which is slated for spring.
