Microsoft’s latest Windows update now confirms if your PC is Secure Boot-protected

Microsoft has introduced a new feature in Windows 11 and Windows 10 that informs users about the status of Secure Boot as part of the April Patch Tuesday update. This feature includes a visual indicator that shows whether devices have the latest Secure Boot certificates, which protect against bootkit malware. The Secure Boot icon can display in green, yellow, or red, indicating different security statuses: green means secure with no actions needed, yellow indicates a pending safety recommendation, and red signals that immediate attention is required. Users can check their Secure Boot status through Settings in both operating systems. It is important to install the latest Windows updates to ensure devices have the most recent Secure Boot certificates, as older certificates will expire in June. The April updates also address 164 vulnerabilities, including eight classified as critical and two identified as zero-day flaws. Users are advised to prioritize these updates to maintain system security.

New Marathon update takes a leaf out of Arc Raiders’ book and encourages you to play nice

A recent update to Marathon has introduced the 'CARRI' system, which stands for the "CyberAcme Runner Reinforcement Initiative," encouraging cooperative gameplay among players. This system rewards both solo players and teams for completing contract objectives and successfully exfiltrating together. Players can earn CyberAcme Commendations, which can be spent in the CARRI Armory for various rewards, including weapons and salvage crates. Solo players can earn commendations by completing individual objectives and can receive extra commendations when extracting with others. A new 'toggle to open' setting for proximity chat and an end-of-run feature called 'Stay Together' promote friendly interactions. The update also includes a 'Mercy Kit' for reviving downed players from other teams and introduces eleven new Deluxe Unique weapons, balance changes, and adjustments to gameplay mechanics, such as railgun charging and extraction timers. The update is now live.

Microsoft fixes bug behind Windows Server 2025 automatic upgrades

Initially, Microsoft attributed the issue to misconfigured third-party update management software, while developers claimed it was due to Microsoft's procedural errors regarding update release speed and classification. Microsoft confirmed the resolution of the issue and re-enabled the upgrade offer through the Windows Update settings. Additionally, Microsoft released an out-of-band update to address complications from a previous non-security preview update and deployed emergency updates to fix sign-in disruptions across various applications. Other updates were issued to resolve Bluetooth visibility issues and security vulnerabilities in the Routing and Remote Access Service management tool.

Microsoft releases Windows 10 KB5082200 extended security update

Microsoft has released the Windows 10 KB5082200 extended security update, addressing vulnerabilities from the April 2026 Patch Tuesday, including two critical zero-day flaws. Windows 11 KB5083769 out with improved /scannow, direct download links for offline installers (.msu)
