Indie Game Festival to debut at Mumbai Comic Con: 40 Indian PC and console games at showcase – The Times of India

On consoles, approximately 44 percent of gaming time on PlayStation and 49 percent on Xbox is spent on titles released six or more years ago, with console gamers dedicating 15 percent of their playtime to new releases from 2024. The gaming industry saw over 18,000 games launched on Valve’s platform in 2024, indicating a significant increase in new releases.

Japanese publisher in cooperation with Chinese company TiMi Studios announced Monster Hunter Outlanders for Android and iOS. The game is an open world survival game set in the Monster Hunter universe, allowing players to fight monsters, travel through various locations, and engage in other activities. It will be free-to-play with in-game purchases available and will be released "soon".

GSD & GfK: PC/Console game sales in Europe increased by 20% in September’24

In Europe, 17.6 million PC and console games were sold last month, a 20% increase from September 2023. EA Sports FC 25 was the top seller, with launch figures 2% lower than its predecessor, while its premium version saw a 10% increase in sales. The Crew 2 was second, benefiting from a promotional price of €1. Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 became the fastest-selling title in its franchise's history. Astro Bot debuted with launch sales 34% higher than Sonic Frontiers and 52% better than Crash Bandicoot 4. NBA 2K25 had a 1% sales increase compared to its predecessor, while The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom's physical sales were 15% lower than the 2019 remake of Link's Awakening. Harry Potter Quidditch Champions debuted at the 28th position. In hardware, 335,000 consoles were sold in September, an 18% decline from the previous year. The PS5 led sales despite a 17% drop, the Nintendo Switch had a 1.5% increase, and Xbox Series S|X sales fell by 58%. Accessory sales decreased by 2.4%, with 1.1 million units sold, and the DualSense controller was the best-seller.
