Capcom announced the PC system requirements for Monster Hunter Wilds, set to launch on February 28th, aiming for broader accessibility with lower specifications. A standalone benchmark tool is available on Steam, allowing players to test performance. The storage requirement has decreased from 140GB to 75GB, and minimum CPU and GPU requirements have been lowered, such as changing the Nvidia GPU from GTX 1660 Super to GTX 1660 and the Intel CPU from i5-10600 to i5-10400. However, the revised minimum specs only guarantee 1080p performance with upscaling and frame generation technologies. Testing with a GTX 1060 and Core i9-13900K showed disappointing results, averaging 26fps at 1080p with low settings, improving to 45fps with frame generation but suffering from input lag. The Steam Deck also performed poorly, averaging 27fps. In contrast, newer graphics cards like the RTX 4060 achieved 62fps at 1080p with high settings, reaching 98fps with frame generation. The RTX 5080 delivered 72fps at 4K with maximum settings, hitting 110fps with frame generation. Further testing will be needed to assess stable frame rates without relying on frame generation.

Capcom announced the PC system requirements for Monster Hunter Wilds, reducing the required SSD space from 140GB to 75GB. A standalone benchmark tool is available on the game's Steam page, revealing that lower-end PCs may struggle to deliver a smooth gaming experience. The minimum specs have changed, with the GTX 1660 replacing the GTX 1660 Super and the Intel Core i5-10400 replacing the i5-10600, but players may be limited to 1080p resolution with upscaling and frame generation. Benchmark testing showed that a GTX 1060 with a Core i9-13900K averaged 26fps at 1080p on the lowest settings, improving to 45fps with frame generation but feeling sluggish. The GTX 1660's performance is only slightly better than the GTX 1060, and the Steam Deck averaged 27fps under similar conditions. In contrast, the RTX 4060 achieved 62fps at 1080p with high settings and ray tracing, reaching 98fps with frame generation. The RTX 5080 performed well at 4K, hitting 72fps with maximum settings and 110fps with frame generation. Further testing is needed to determine stable frame rates at 1080p without heavy reliance on frame generation.

Sid Meier’s Civilization VII will have a native Linux version with the following minimum PC requirements for 1080p at 30 frames per second on low graphics settings: - OS: Ubuntu 22.04 - Processor: Intel i5-4690 / AMD Ryzen 3 1200 - Memory: 8 GB RAM - Graphics: NVIDIA GTX 1060 / AMD RX 580 - Storage: 25 GB available space The Windows version has a minimum requirement of an Nvidia GTX 1050, while the Linux version requires a GTX 1060. The Steam Deck's GPUs (GTX 1050Ti or AMD Radeon RX 570) are slightly below the Linux minimum requirements, but the lower resolution of 1280x800 suggests Civ 7 may run well on the device. Users should run Ubuntu 22.04 or higher, but other modern Linux distributions with a contemporary kernel may also suffice. Civilization VII is scheduled for release on February 11, 2025.
