Overwatch Season 2 is “modernizing” old heroes, and I’m ready for a Pharmercy revival

The Overwatch Season 2 update will feature significant changes, including the return of the 'Pharmercy' duo with revamped abilities for original heroes. Mercy will receive a Flash Heal ability, enhancing her healing capabilities, while Pharah will gain Drift Thrusters to improve her maneuverability during Barrage. Reaper will have Dire Triggers as a standard ability to better engage distant targets. The post-match experience will be revamped with a new accolades system for player recognition and a shared lobby voice chat during the Play of the Game. Competitive play will see reduced ranking penalties for losses on new or reworked maps, and a system for automatic map selection based on player votes. Blizzard is also considering improvements to the hero bans system for future updates. Overwatch Season 2 is set to launch on April 14, introducing new character Sierra.

Rockstar teases ‘absolutely mind-blowing things’ in the works as Grand Theft Auto 6 wins Most Wanted Game at the Golden Joystick Awards

Black Myth: Wukong won the Ultimate Game of the Year award at the 42nd annual Golden Joystick Awards. Helldivers 2 and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth each won four awards. Grand Theft Auto 6 was awarded Most Wanted Game. Satisfactory was named PC Game of the Year. The awards included various categories with winners such as Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth for Best Storytelling, Black Myth: Wukong for Best Visual Design, and Helldivers 2 for Best Multiplayer Game. Other notable awards included Astro Bot for Best Audio Design, Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree for Best Game Expansion, and Another Crab’s Treasure for Best Indie Game Self Published. Team ASOBI was recognized as Studio of the Year, and the Steam Deck OLED won Best Gaming Hardware. The Best Game Adaptation award went to Fallout, while Briana White and Cody Christian won for Best Supporting Performer and Best Lead Performer, respectively. The Still Playing categories recognized Honkai: Star Rail and Minecraft. The Critics’ Choice Award was given to Helldivers 2, and Balatro received the Breakthrough Award.
