Huion Kamvas Pad 12 review: a budget Android drawing tablet that gets the small things right

Creative Bloq's review highlights the Huion Kamvas Pad 12 as a compact, entry-level Android art tablet priced at 9 / £449. It features the new PenTech 4.0 stylus with 16,384 pressure levels, a sturdy design resembling an iPad, and an etched glass surface for a paper-like feel. The tablet runs on Android 16, supports various drawing apps, and has a battery life of up to eight hours. While it offers good color accuracy covering 99% of sRGB, it may not match the precision of higher-end models like the iPad Pro or Wacom tablets. Palm rejection could be improved, and users may need a drawing glove to prevent unintended screen interactions.

Sketchbook: Developed by Autodesk, this app features extensive tools, layering, and mirror drawing options, suitable for both beginners and advanced users. 3. Concepts: Offers a modern interface with customizable backgrounds and a variety of brushes, enhancing the drawing experience. 4. Notewise: A note-taking app that allows freeform placement of text and drawings, making it versatile for writing and sketching. 5. Microsoft OneNote: Known for its simplicity and synchronization across devices, it provides basic drawing tools and is practical for managing notes and drawings.

Microsoft has eradicated all memory of Paint 3D from the store, and its predecessor is only getting better

Microsoft has retired Paint 3D, which has disappeared from the Microsoft Store. Users who downloaded it before November 4 can still access it, but it will no longer receive updates. The original Paint has received significant updates, including AI capabilities for background removal, new brushes and tools, and AI image generation tools that require credits for access. Paint has become a more dynamic tool, competing with applications like GIMP and Photoshop, and has improved compatibility with drawing tools for Windows tablet users.
