Google rolling out Android 17 QPR2 Beta 6 for Pixel

Android 17 QPR2 Beta 6 has been released for Pixel devices, following Beta 5. This update aims to improve user experience by fixing several issues. Users can report bugs via the Android Beta Feedback app. The version number is CP41.260831.007. The beta is compatible with various devices, including Pixel 6a, 7, 7 Pro, 7a, Tablet, Fold, 8, 8 Pro, 8a, 9, 9 Pro, 9 Pro XL, 9 Pro Fold, 9a, 10, 10 Pro, 10 Pro XL, 10 Pro Fold, and 10a. Pixel 11 series devices are not supported in this beta release. Users can join the Android Beta Program for over-the-air updates.

These three Microsoft 365 apps lasted just one year before getting axed

Microsoft will retire the Calendar, People, and Files companion apps from its Microsoft 365 suite on December 16, 2026. These apps were launched a year ago to enhance productivity by providing quick access to information via the Windows 11 taskbar. However, their role has shifted from essential tools to supplementary resources, as users can access the same information through existing Microsoft services. Microsoft recommends alternatives such as Outlook, Teams, Windows Search, File Explorer, SharePoint, OneDrive, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for users to utilize after the retirement of these apps.

The Copilot+ PC brand is dead: Microsoft and PC makers quietly pull back on tarnished Windows 11 AI PC branding

In 2024, Microsoft and Qualcomm launched "Copilot+ PCs" to promote AI-first computing, but faced challenges when security concerns led to the postponement of the key feature, Recall. A Microsoft representative stated that while the latest Surface PCs met Copilot+ specifications, they would not carry the branding. Qualcomm's Kedar Kondap explained that the branding aimed to define devices capable of advanced NPU experiences, but those experiences could still be provided without the Copilot+ label. NVIDIA chose not to associate its RTX Spark platform with Copilot+, indicating a lack of market resonance for the branding. Consequently, both OEMs and Microsoft are moving away from the Copilot+ label, despite maintaining the specification baseline for the experiences.

uBlock Origin finally broke for me on Microsoft Edge, so I switched to Brave
