Iconic Retro Horror Game ‘Sanitarium Enhanced’ Coming to PC and Consoles

Ziggurat Interactive has announced two upcoming titles: Sanitarium Enhanced and Cosmi: Forbidden Forest & Beyond. Sanitarium Enhanced, a psychological horror game, will be available on PC (Steam, GOG), Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4 and 5, and Nintendo Switch. It is a modernized version of the 1998 cult classic, featuring full controller support, widescreen presentation, and additional bonus content. Cosmi: Forbidden Forest & Beyond will be released for PC (Steam, GOG), Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 5. Both announcements were made during the Pixel Arcadia showcase. A specific release date for Sanitarium Enhanced has not yet been provided.

The new maps are compatible with modern Quake sourceports such as Ironwail, Netquake, and Nightdive's Kex port. Additionally, a new episode titled Dawn of the Machine has been released in collaboration with Machine Games, following their previous release, Dimension of the Machine, from 2021.

You can now play the secret best immersive sim in coop thanks to this mod

Immersive simulations like Dishonored and Deus Ex have traditionally focused on solitary experiences, but some games have introduced multiplayer elements. System Shock 2 included a cooperative mode that was revitalized in its recent remaster, and Deathloop featured an invasion mechanic. In a new development, a mod called Prey Coop allows up to 16 players to explore the Talos 1 space station in Arkane's Prey. This mod, created by null234, synchronizes various gameplay elements among players. To use the mod, players must install it and Chairloader, forward the necessary ports, and ensure they have legitimate copies of the game and the same DLL build of the mod. The Lord of the Rings: War in the North Legacy Edition Gets Shadow Drop on Modern Consoles and PC

Cancelled Quake 4 expansion gets surprise GitHub release after former XCOM 2 developer discovers it on an old hard drive: ‘This essentially saved my life’

The original Quake has unveiled an official new episode as part of its 30th anniversary at QuakeCon. Additionally, a build of the previously cancelled expansion Quake 4: Awakening has been discovered on GitHub. This expansion was under development by Ritual Entertainment but was halted by Activision due to poor sales of the base game. A veteran game developer named Marshall found the expansion on a second-hand PC and shared it on GitHub, expressing that it had a significant emotional impact on him. The build includes configuration files with names of former Ritual employees, suggesting its authenticity. Gameplay footage shows new weapons and missions, indicating that the expansion was nearly complete before its cancellation. Marshall aims to preserve the project and hopes the community can help refine and eventually release it.

One of Bethesda’s Best Games Getting New Release Next Week

On August 11, a beloved title from Bethesda will return exclusively for Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and potentially PC users as part of the Xbox Game Pass offering. The addition of Date Everything to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Premium, and PC Game Pass has been officially announced for the same day. Titles such as Grounded 2 and Bounty Star will also be added to the Premium tier after their initial releases in the Ultimate and PC tiers. Speculation surrounds the potential addition of Wolfenstein 3D, which has not been formally announced, but may be revealed at QuakeCon. Wolfenstein 3D, released in 1992, is recognized as a pivotal title in the first-person shooter genre and was ported to the Xbox 360 in 2009. The upgraded version will soon be accessible through Xbox Game Pass.
