GeForce NOW Brings GeForce RTX Gaming to Linux PCs

The native GeForce NOW app for Linux PCs is now available in beta, supporting Ubuntu 24.04 and later, allowing users to stream games with GeForce RTX capabilities directly from the cloud. The app introduces ten new games, including The Bard’s Tale IV: Director’s Cut and The Bard’s Tale Trilogy. It offers high-performance gaming with resolutions up to 5K and 120 fps or 1080p at 360 fps. The app is optimized for PCs and notebooks, providing a native experience similar to the existing GeForce NOW app for Windows and macOS. New game releases include Cairn, The Midnight Walkers, Prototype, Prototype 2, Warhammer 40,000: SPACE MARINE 2, Half Sword, Vampires: Bloodlord Rising, and Total War: Three Kingdoms.

After all these years, Heretic plays better than it ever has—and thanks to Nightdive, even Hexen sucks far less

Last week, remastered versions of Heretic and Hexen were released, developed by Raven Software. Heretic, released in 1994, featured unique weaponry like the ethereal crossbow and allowed for strategic item use, but its gameplay was similar to Doom and its aesthetic less appealing than Hexen's darker tones. Hexen, released in 1995, attempted to blend RPG elements into the first-person shooter genre but often frustrated players with its complexity and hub-based level structure. Nightdive Studios made gameplay adjustments in both remasters, including tweaks to level design and weapon mechanics, such as reducing the ethereal crossbow's ammo capacity. Players can toggle these changes on or off. Heretic's level design has been appreciated for its sophistication, surpassing Doom 2, while Hexen's remaster includes a more user-friendly map and the ability to change character classes mid-game, enhancing accessibility.

Nine more games announced for Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass

This month, Game Pass will add several new titles, including the day-one release of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 on July 11. Other upcoming games include Little Nightmares 2 and Rise of the Tomb Raider, both available today, as well as Legend of Mana and Trials of Mana on July 2, Ultimate Chicken Horse on July 3, The Ascent on July 8, and Minami Lane on July 9. Starting July 15, the following games will be removed from Game Pass: Flock, Mafia Definitive Edition, Magical Delicacy, Tchia, The Callisto Protocol, and The Case of the Golden Idol. A 20% discount is offered for purchases of these departing titles before they leave the service.
