Microsoft fixes Remote Desktop issues caused by Windows Server update

Microsoft's cumulative updates for October address a significant issue with Remote Desktop connections on Windows servers, specifically related to the RD Gateway service, which began crashing every 30 minutes after the July security updates. How to Use Microsoft’s Remote Desktop Connection

To set up Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection, enable Remote Desktop on the computer you want to access by going to Settings > System > Remote Desktop and turning on the switch. Require computers to use Network Level Authentication (NLA) for tighter security. Grant remote access to a different account by adding the username in the Remote Desktop settings. In Windows 10, launch the Remote Desktop Connection tool by clicking the Start button and selecting the Windows Accessories folder. In Windows 11, click the Start button, select All Apps, then Windows Tools, and click the Remote Desktop Connection shortcut. Type the name or IP address of the remote PC, enter the username and password, and connect. Use the Remote Desktop app from the Microsoft Store as an alternative. To connect from an iPhone or iPad, install the Microsoft Remote Desktop app from the App Store, add the PC, enter the user account, and connect. To connect from an Android device, download the Microsoft Remote Desktop app from Google Play, add the PC, enter the username and password, and connect.
