Microsoft is rolling out update KB5060533 for Windows 10, which includes security enhancements and new features in the Calendar. The update integrates links to special themed days, such as World Environment Day (June 5, 2025), World Oceans Day (June 8), Juneteenth National Freedom Day (June 19), and American Eagle Day (June 20). Clicking on these themed days launches the Edge browser and initiates a Bing search related to the event, regardless of the user's default search engine. There is currently no option to disable this feature or select a different search engine for these queries.

Microsoft released an emergency update, KB5063060, to address a compatibility issue causing unexpected restarts and blue screen of death (BSOD) errors on Windows 11 systems using Easy Anti-Cheat. This update follows the earlier cumulative update, KB5060842, which led to reports of system reboots linked to IRQLNOTLESSOREQUAL BSODs. The issues were confirmed to affect devices running Easy Anti-Cheat, which is used in popular games like Fortnite and Apex Legends. The update will install automatically for devices with Easy Anti-Cheat, and manual installation options are available for x64 and arm64 systems. Additionally, Microsoft implemented a compatibility hold for Windows 24H2 upgrades on Intel Alder Lake+ and vPro systems due to related blue screen issues. On the same day, Microsoft also released security updates addressing 66 vulnerabilities in Windows 11, including critical flaws in Windows SMB and WebDAV.

Microsoft has issued an emergency update for Windows users in June to address issues related to the June update (Windows 11 24H2 KB5060842), which caused significant problems for users with Easy Anti-Cheat gaming software. The initial update was paused due to stability concerns, and a patch was applied, but it did not resolve the issues. Users reported installation failures with error code (0x80073712). Microsoft acknowledged compatibility issues and ultimately retracted the faulty update, replacing it with the emergency update KB5063060. This new update addresses unexpected reboots while launching games that use Easy Anti-Cheat and will automatically download and install on affected devices.

T-Mobile's T-Life app has faced significant criticism from employees and customers since its launch, despite updates aimed at improving functionality. Users report challenges with the app, including unclear and impractical functions. One user experienced difficulty after accidentally deleting their eSIM, as the app did not provide a solution and required a visit to a physical store for assistance. T-Mobile has encouraged customers to use the app for self-service tasks, but reports indicate that employees must report instances when customers refuse to use it. The transition to the app has created friction and raised questions about its effectiveness.

Microsoft's June security update for Windows 11 24H2 introduced critical fixes but was quickly followed by a warning about a compatibility issue affecting a limited number of devices, leading to the throttling of the update. Microsoft plans to release a revised update that will include all security improvements from June 2025. The specifics of the compatibility issue remain unclear, with speculation about potential complications related to various CPU architectures and reports of installation errors from users. The rapid throttling of the patch raises questions about the quality control processes in place at Microsoft.

WhatsApp and Telegram each have over a billion users but face scrutiny for security issues and tracking practices. A new state-controlled messaging app, VladsApp, has been approved by Russian lawmakers as an alternative to these platforms. Sergei Boyarsky, head of the Duma’s Committee on Information Policy, described it as a “secure, multifunctional alternative” aimed at enhancing digital security in Russia. The app will operate on state-controlled infrastructure and is expected to integrate with government services, allowing personal information transfer with user consent. The draft legislation must pass through parliament and receive President Vladimir Putin's signature to become law. There are concerns that the state may restrict access to foreign messaging services to promote VladsApp among users in Russia.

Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto Online has 20 million monthly active players as of April 2025, its highest engagement since June 2022. Many of these players also engage with other popular games, particularly Fortnite, Roblox, Call of Duty, and Minecraft, with an 11% overlap of GTA Online players with Minecraft. Despite its large user base, there has been a 19% decline in average playtime among gamers who play both GTA Online and Minecraft on PlayStation. This trend suggests that player engagement with GTA Online can fluctuate based on the popularity of competing titles.
