Steam Machine release date speculation, specs and latest news

Valve is set to launch the Steam Machine in early 2026, potentially up to April 2026, though delays may occur due to a RAM crisis affecting component prices. Pre-orders are currently unavailable, but customers can add it to their Steam wishlist for notifications. The Steam Machine is a PC-hybrid console, running SteamOS, and offers a desktop environment for flexibility. It has performance specifications between the Xbox Series S and PlayStation 5, with 16GB of system memory and 8GB of video memory. Key specifications include a semi-custom AMD Zen 4 CPU, semi-custom AMD RDNA3 GPU, and storage options of 512GB or 2TB NVMe SSD. The Steam Machine will come with a Steam Controller, featuring standard controls and enhanced precision through dual trackpads and a gyroscope.

ClickFix attack uses fake Windows BSOD screens to push malware

A new social engineering attack campaign called ClickFix is targeting the hospitality sector in Europe, using fake Windows Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) screens to trick users into executing malware. Initially identified in December by Securonix as "PHALT#BLYX," the campaign involves phishing emails that appear to be notifications from Booking.com, often mentioning significant refunds to create urgency. Victims are directed to a counterfeit Booking.com site that mimics the legitimate one and displays a fake error message prompting them to execute a malicious command. This command launches a PowerShell script that downloads and compiles malware known as DCRAT, a remote access Trojan that allows attackers to control infected devices, exfiltrate data, and spread within networks.

ChatGPT now available on KakaoTalk, S.Korea’s top messaging app

ChatGPT, developed by OpenAI Inc., has launched on KakaoTalk, South Korea's leading mobile chat platform, marking the first outcome of the partnership between Kakao Corp. and OpenAI announced in February. Kakao introduced ChatGPT for Kakao, integrating OpenAI’s GPT-5 model into the KakaoTalk interface, allowing users to access it via a new tab. Existing users can sign in with OpenAI credentials, while new users can register with their Kakao accounts. The service offers free and paid tiers, with limited access for free users. It integrates with Kakao Tools, providing access to various services like Kakao Map. Kakao is offering a subscription rebate for the paid ChatGPT Plus plan until December 31 and emphasizes user privacy regarding chat histories and data management. This launch is part of Kakao’s strategy to build an AI-agent ecosystem, which includes the Kanana service currently in beta, utilizing the Kanana Nano model for user assistance. Kakao plans to roll out Kanana across Android devices in the first quarter of next year and has launched PlayMCP for external partners to develop new content. Following the announcement, Kakao shares increased by over 4.5%.

WhatsApp may soon allow users to chat without sharing numbers, messaging app to bring username reservation option; here’s how it will work
