Minecraft Realms is designed for minimal friction, serving as a "no admin" solution for gaming groups. Each Realm accommodates three persistent world slots, allowing friends to access the active world anytime, even when the owner is offline. Realms feature automatic backups to restore worlds and simplify undoing changes. They are ideal for groups that prefer convenience and a vanilla experience. In contrast, hosting provides greater control, enabling the use of plugins, modpacks, and performance tuning. Key considerations before choosing a server include server region, SSD storage, backup processes, upgrade options, and support quality. A checklist can help prevent troubleshooting issues later. Establishing a Minecraft Realms list can streamline decision-making for groups with varying preferences.

Smartphones can become cluttered with seldom-used apps, affecting user experience. Android users can declutter by archiving apps, which can be done automatically through the Google Play Store or manually via the Settings menu. To enable automatic archiving, users should go to the Google Play Store, tap their profile icon, navigate to Settings, expand the General tab, and toggle on the Automatically archive apps option. This will archive infrequently used apps when storage is low. For manual archiving, users can open Settings, select Apps, choose the app to archive, and tap Archive. Archived apps appear grayed out and dimmed in the app drawer. To restore an archived app, users can tap it in the app drawer or go to Settings > Apps > [archived app] and select Restore. Users can opt out of automatic archiving for specific apps by going to Settings, selecting the app, and toggling off the Manage app if unused option.

The Backup and Restore (Windows 7) feature is located in the Control Panel under System and Security and can be accessed more conveniently through a desktop shortcut. It uses Microsoft’s VHDX files for imaging, allowing users to mount and browse images in Windows Explorer. The backup configuration defaults to user folders and full system images of internal drives, with options to customize selections. Backups can be saved to an internal hard drive or a network location, but not to directly attached external media like USB drives. Users can include non-user folders by transforming them into user libraries. The tool creates VHDX images, but the restoration process requires a physical disc (CD or DVD) and lacks an option to create an ISO file. Users have reported mixed results with Windows Recovery Drive, with some experiencing failures. Backup and Restore (Windows 7) does not support incremental or differential backups and is limited to a single job configuration. It cannot restore to a smaller capacity drive than the original, and the Recovery Drive is tied to the specific PC it was created on. Due to these limitations, it is recommended to consider alternatives like EaseUS Todo Backup 2025 or Macrium Reflect 8 Free for disaster recovery. However, Backup and Restore (Windows 7) remains suitable for creating VHDX images for browsing and manual recovery within the Windows ecosystem.

Microsoft and Veeam are addressing connection errors affecting users of Windows 11 24H2 systems, particularly those restoring data with Veeam Recovery Media on builds 26100.3194 and higher. The errors occur when attempting to restore files from a Veeam Backup & Replication server or SMB network share, with messages indicating network connection failures and issues with the Local Security Authority. Veeam suggests using Recovery Media from older Windows 11 builds (26100.3037 or lower) as a temporary solution. Veeam clarified that they cannot provide pre-generated Recovery Media images due to proprietary components. Over 550,000 customers use Veeam products, including 82% of Fortune 500 companies. In February, Microsoft also addressed issues related to the KB5051987 update that affected Outlook functionalities on Windows 24H2 systems.
