DoomScroll is a new website that allows users to browse and play thousands of user-created Doom WADs directly in their web browsers. The platform offers smooth gameplay with standard keyboard and mouse controls, but some maps may not function correctly due to emulator limitations. There are concerns about the redistribution of projects, as not all creators permit their work to be shared outside its original platform, and DoomScroll currently lacks a verification mechanism for the origins of these creations. Major Arlene, a prominent Doom modder, expressed enthusiasm for DoomScroll despite these issues. Additionally, the Doom franchise recently saw the release of Doom: The Dark Ages and faced shifts in its modding community with the departure of contributors from GZDoom. John Romero, co-creator of Doom, is working on a new indie first-person shooter project after the cancellation of his studio's main endeavor by Microsoft.

Facepunch has released an update for Rust, urging players to adapt to significant changes in the game's progression system, particularly affecting solo players and smaller groups. The update introduced a "soft progression gate" to encourage early confrontations and reduce clan dominance. Changes include the addition of Basic and Advanced Blueprint Fragments to workbench recipes, making resource accumulation more challenging and incentivizing combat. New loot refresh times at monuments have led to players camping these locations, causing further scarcity of resources. The November update adjusted puzzle timers to prevent pausing due to player proximity and introduced lethal radiation before loot resets. This has made it harder for solo players and small groups to compete, as they remain limited to lower-tier workbenches while larger clans advance more rapidly. The gameplay has shifted towards a more combat-focused experience, resembling a battle royale format, which some players find less appealing. Unofficial servers may provide a more balanced experience.

League of Legends executive producer Paul Bellezza acknowledged the need for technological improvements in the game. A Chinese leaker claims that a sequel, referred to as League of Legends 2, may be on the horizon, with potential significant technical and gameplay enhancements expected in the latter half of next year. A now-deleted report from 'Summoner Park' suggests comprehensive upgrades, including the removal of legacy code and revamps of core game content, while preserving core gameplay. The report also hints at large-scale optimizations and balancing changes for over 170 champions. However, the timeline for these changes is tight, especially with the rework for Shyvana postponed to 2026. PCGamesN has reached out to Riot Games for clarification on the report's validity.

Diablo 4 is undergoing its second major overhaul since its launch nearly three years ago, with significant changes to monster behavior and player gear customization planned for the upcoming season and additional reworks for the next expansion. Associate game director Zaven Haroutunian stated that the development team aims to maintain a "holistic picture" of the game and focus on elements that enhance player experience. Certain monster types will be revamped for the new Tower dungeon, which will track player progress and encourage engagement with more challenging foes. Haroutunian emphasized the importance of keeping game components relevant and engaging, stating that outdated systems create a burden on the team. Blizzard's strategy involves pairing innovative systems with reworked older elements to ensure nothing is neglected. While the game will continue to evolve, there is concern that frequent changes might dilute its identity and require players to relearn aspects of the game regularly. Future updates are expected to stabilize foundational elements and pave the way for additional content, with specifics remaining undisclosed until the official expansion announcement.
