The Lift-860 hover pack is a new enhancement in Helldivers 2, introduced through the Borderline Justice warbond, allowing players to hover in mid-air. A viral Reddit video showcased a player, cur1y_n3ctar, using the hover pack to evade a bile titan and attack it with a flamethrower, leading to the strategy being dubbed the "dragon build" by the community. Some players also refer to it as the "firefly build." This strategy has gained popularity just before the first anniversary of Malevelon Creek, where speculation suggests the game's automaton faction may launch an assault using specialized flame units known as the incineration corps.

Malevelon Creek is a significant location for Helldivers 2 players, known for its intense battles against the Automaton forces. The community, referred to as 'Creekers,' has received a commemorative cape from developer Arrowhead for their efforts. The Helldivers are currently facing an invasion from the Automaton Incineration Corps, targeting "old industrial assets in the Severin Sector." Speculation about the timing of this invasion includes predictions for April 1st, the anniversary of the planet's liberation, and Memorial Day. Some players express concerns about the game's difficulty balance and the need for the return to Malevelon Creek to meet high expectations, while others are excited about the upcoming challenges. Arrowhead's director shared a humorous anecdote about a call from PlayStation regarding server issues during a talk at GDC.
