A 100-foot statue of Jude the Apostle has been unveiled in Esperanza, Puebla State, Mexico, but has faced mockery for its design, which some compare to video game aesthetics. The statue features the saint's traditional green and white attire, with plans to add a wooden staff. Construction began in 2024 but was delayed due to weather and ecological concerns, and it was inaugurated last week. Local authorities hope it will attract pilgrims during Saint Jude Thaddeus's feast day celebrations. The backlash parallels a previous controversy in Seville regarding the restoration of a Virgin Mary statue, which led to protests and adjustments after criticism of its altered appearance.

Rebel Wolves has released a new gameplay demo for The Blood of Dawnwalker, incorporating significant changes based on player feedback. The studio, made up of former CD Projekt Red developers, has generated excitement for this RPG. The demo features the quest 'A Monk and a Saint,' where the protagonist, Coen, seeks a legendary sword. Players experience different scenarios depending on whether Coen is in human form during the day or as a vampire at night. In the daytime, Coen investigates an asylum and confronts a Murohn, using the Compel Soul hex to communicate with the deceased. The gameplay allows for real-time decision-making without pausing the choice menu, similar to The Witcher 3. A second camera option has been added based on player feedback for a wider view during combat and exploration. The Blood of Dawnwalker is set to release in 2026.

A new messaging application called Zosima has been launched on Google Play, initially intended for release in November 2024 but made available early on September 23. Developed by the Innotech XXI Foundation, Zosima aims to connect parishioners with local churches but has evolved into a broader social networking platform. Officials from the Russian Orthodox Church have distanced themselves from the app, stating they were not consulted during its development. The church's spokesperson, Vakhtang Kipshidze, expressed skepticism about the initiative. Zosima is named after a sixth-century monastic saint and is open to individuals of all faiths, but cannot be considered Orthodox without endorsement from Patriarch Kirill. An official presentation for the app is scheduled for October 30. The launch occurs amid increasing restrictions on Western technology platforms in Russia, with WhatsApp remaining the most widely used messaging service despite limitations. The Russian Orthodox Church had previously launched its own messenger app in 2017, connecting 130,000 users with 15,000 churches.
