Google App launches ‘Activity’ tab for Android users: What’s inside

Google has introduced an “Activity” tab in its Android app, replacing the previous “Saved” tab, as announced on May 25, 2025. The new tab is organized into three sections: History, which displays the four most recent searches and accessed websites; Saved items, which presents saved content in a carousel view; and Collections, which offers groupings of saved items. Users can still access the old layout through the “Saves & Collections” option in the account menu. Additionally, adjustments have been made to the Home tab’s space carousel. The “Activity” tab integrates with Web & App Activity for managing user interactions across Google services.

How to Export Your Saved Articles Before Pocket Shuts Down for Good

Pocket will cease operations on July 8, with users required to export their saved items by October 8. The app is no longer available for download, and sign-ups and renewals have been disabled. Users can export their data by linking their account to a valid email and clicking the Export HTML file button, with the process taking up to 7 days. The export link will expire after 48 hours. Monthly renewals for Pocket Premium have been stopped, and annual subscribers will receive a prorated refund. All accounts and data will be permanently deleted after October 8.

Google app is testing an easier way to view your search history and saved items

Google is replacing the "Saved" tab with an "Activity" tab in its main app, which will consolidate saved items and search history from Chrome and the Google app into one location. This update aims to simplify navigation by eliminating the need for multiple tabs. The "Activity" tab is currently in a limited testing phase, available to a select group of users, and has been in development for two months. One user reported discovering the feature on their Pixel 8 Pro with a specific app version, while it was not available on another device with a newer version. A broader rollout is expected in the coming weeks.
