Capcom ditches Resident Evil 4 Remake’s new, performance-choking DRM

Capcom's recent decision to replace Denuvo DRM with Enigma Protector for the Resident Evil 4 Remake lasted only 28 days due to performance issues reported by players. Digital Foundry confirmed that CPU performance suffered compared to the Denuvo version, leading to a rise in negative reviews despite the game maintaining a high Steam user score. On March 3, Capcom removed Enigma Protector from Resident Evil 4, leaving the game without any third-party DRM currently listed on its Steam page. There is no indication that Denuvo has been reinstated. GOG offers DRM-free alternatives but does not host Resident Evil 4 or the newly released Requiem.

Coming to Xbox Game Pass: Cyberpunk 2077, Planet of Lana II, and More

Final Fantasy III is available on Cloud, Xbox Series X|S, and PC through Game Pass Ultimate, Game Pass Premium, and PC Game Pass. Kingdom Come: Deliverance II is also available on the same platforms under the same subscriptions. Upcoming games include to a T on March 4, EA Sports F1 25 on March 4, Planet of Lana II: Children of the Leaf on March 5, Construction Simulator on March 10, Cyberpunk 2077 on March 10, Hollow Knight: Silksong on March 12, and DreamWorks Gabby’s Dollhouse: Ready to Party on March 17. Diablo II: Resurrected became available on February 11 for Cloud, Console, and PC. Call of Duty: Warzone Black Ops Royale will be updated on March 13. Game Pass members can claim a complimentary in-game bundle for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and Call of Duty: Warzone. Titles leaving the Game Pass library on March 15 include Bratz Rhythm & Style, Enter the Gungeon, F1 23, He is Coming, Lightyear Frontier, and Mythwrecked: Ambrosia Island.

Echo Generation 2 First Demo Available Now on PC and Xbox

Cococucumber has released the first playable demo of Echo Generation 2, available for download on PC and Xbox consoles. In the demo, players control Sister M, who must escape the FST organization using her supernatural abilities and a new tactical combat system that allows for personalized deck building. Echo Generation 2 is scheduled for launch in 2026 on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox for PC, Xbox Cloud, Xbox Game Pass, and PC (Steam). Players can wishlist the game on Steam and Xbox, and follow Cococucumber on social media for updates. Cococucumber is an indie studio based in Toronto, co-led by Martin Gauvreau and Vanessa Chia, known for developing games like Planet of the Eyes, Riverbond, Ravenlok, and the original Echo Generation.

Ohlen emphasized that Exodus is "in a good place" and expressed confidence in the team's ability to continue the project under the leadership of trusted colleagues. He will remain with Wizards of the Coast as a creative consultant, focusing on tabletop RPGs and his own venture, Arcanum Worlds. The game Exodus features a time dilation mechanic where players experience long journeys at near-light speed, with a planned release date set for early 2027.
