Microsoft has announced the retirement of the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) after nearly forty years, transitioning to a new error screen called the Black Screen of Death. The new screen will feature a black background, replacing the blue, and will provide clearer error messages, such as "Your device ran into a problem and needs to restart." This change is part of a broader initiative to improve user experience during critical failures, including a significant reduction in reboot times to approximately two seconds. The redesign was influenced by the CrowdStrike outage and aims to enhance clarity and efficiency in troubleshooting. The rollout will begin with Windows Insiders and expand to millions of PCs globally.

Screensavers in Windows 11 can be customized by users despite the lack of new built-in designs from Microsoft. Users can create a custom screensaver using a collection of images through the Photos option in the screensaver utility or by using a third-party application like Screensaver Wonder to convert video files into screensavers. To create a custom screensaver from images, users can follow these steps: 1. Press the Windows key, type screensaver, and hit Enter. 2. Select the Photos option and click on Settings. 3. Browse to find and select the folder with desired images. 4. Adjust the slideshow speed and click Save. 5. Click Apply and then OK. For creating a custom screensaver using Screensaver Wonder: 1. Launch Screensaver Wonder and select Create video screensaver. 2. Choose video file(s) and click Next. 3. Enter a name for the screensaver and click Next. 4. Click Finish, provide a name, and hit Save. 5. Select the newly created screensaver in the Windows screensaver utility and click Apply. 6. Click OK and close both applications. Custom screensavers can be installed by placing the screensaver file in the System32 folder, but it is important to use reputable sources for SCR files. The free version of Screensaver Wonder includes a watermark, but offers further customization options.

Android Automotive 15 introduces several enhancements, including the ability to stream audio from the vehicle to Bluetooth headsets, allowing users to select their wireless headphones as audio output devices, though only one active media stream can occur over Bluetooth at a time. An app dock feature enables users to pin favorite applications for quick access, and an ambient view feature allows for unique displays on head unit screens when not in use. The update also includes "Wi-Fi hotspot persistence," which maintains the vehicle's hotspot between driving sessions, and enhances radio support by integrating HD and DAB radio standards.
