M. Shawn “Clown” Crahan, the percussionist and artistic director of Slipknot, has introduced ‘Vernearth’, a custom multi-mode realm for the video game ‘Minecraft’. Vernearth features four distinct game modes that run for 45 days each, inspired by elements of the Slipknot universe. The first season is themed around the track “The Heretic Anthem”, and the second season draws inspiration from “The Dying Song (Time To Sing)”. The four primary game modes are: 1. OBLIVION — The Core World: A survival world with realism and clown-inspired elements, featuring custom factions and three major capital cities. 2. PVP / EVENT SERVER — The Arena: A competitive mode with weekly tournaments in four unique arenas, offering rewards in “War” currency. 3. PLOTWORLD — The Sanctuary: A creative space for building and hosting events, encouraging artistic contributions. 4. CHALLENGE MODE: A hardcore mode where players have one life, with new Slipknot-inspired themes each season. The seasonal structure will evolve, with Season 1 focusing on chaos and Season 2 on eerie decay, leading to unpredictable challenges in Season 3. Players can earn permanent titles, exclusive cosmetics, and placements in the Hall of Heroes, along with a share of the prize pool. Further details are available at vernearth.com.

Once Human is a free-to-play survival game with a seasonal structure, where each server is linked to a "seasonal scenario." Despite some initial concerns about losing progress at the end of each season, developer Starry Studios reassured players that the system is not as extreme as it may seem. The game has attracted over 100,000 concurrent players and may introduce permanent scenarios in the future.
