Oblivion Remastered has reminded me how lucky we are to have an independent Elder Scrolls wiki in the hallowed UESP

Why I love The Shivering Isles in Oblivion

The Shivering Isles is a DLC for Oblivion that offers a unique and twisted fantasy land split into two parts, Mania and Dementia. The realm is ruled by Sheogorath, the Prince of Madness, and features exaggerated and eccentric characters with absurd vocal tics. The DLC is filled with sidequests that reward exploration, such as freeing ghosts trapped in an endless siege and participating in a fight club in the city of New Sheoth.
