Mike Ybarra, former president of Blizzard Entertainment, expressed on social media that he believes "Battlefield will boot stomp CoD this year," suggesting that the competition will push Call of Duty to improve. Battlefield 6 is taking a back-to-basics approach and has shown strong interest with over 250,000 players in its open beta. Critics have noted Ybarra's bias against Call of Duty, which is now owned by Microsoft, and pointed out that despite criticisms, Call of Duty has outsold Battlefield 1. Ybarra described Call of Duty as "a mess," citing issues like cheating and large installation sizes. Battlefield 6 is set to release on October 6 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, with modest hardware requirements and a default 60 FPS mode on Series S consoles.

Duke Nukem Forever was released in 2011 with outdated graphics and gameplay compared to its ambitious 2001 E3 trailer. A playable prototype of the 2001 version surfaced, revealing various levels and features, including the Ladykiller Casino and Hoover Dam, but it was unfinished and plagued by glitches. The prototype included navigational puzzles, scripted events, and innovative mechanics like vending machines for healing items. Combat mechanics showed potential, with satisfying weapon dynamics, but the overall experience felt disjointed and less cohesive as it progressed. The prototype demonstrated ambitious ideas but likely would not have stood the test of time alongside classics like Quake or Half-Life.

Tipped arrows can inflict potion effects on both allies and enemies. They are crafted by surrounding a lingering potion with eight arrows, producing eight tipped arrows. These arrows deal standard arrow damage along with the potion effect upon impact. They can be used strategically in combat, such as using arrows of slowness against fast-moving mobs or arrows of weakness against strong foes, although some entities are immune to these effects. Tipped arrows can also provide beneficial effects like regeneration and speed to teammates, but caution is needed to avoid harming allies. In Bedrock Edition, tipped arrows can be crafted using cauldrons filled with potions. The infinity enchantment on bows does not apply to tipped arrows, and dispensers can launch tipped arrows for strategic traps.
