The “People as the Network” architecture is the technical backbone of Verum Messenger’s Offline Mode, which launched on February 2, 2026. It shifts from a Centralized Cloud model to a Decentralized Mesh Network. The system utilizes local hardware, including Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and Wi-Fi Direct, allowing devices to connect within a 100-meter range. Messages can "hop" from one device to another to reach recipients beyond direct range, forming an ad-hoc network without a master controller. Local Encryption ensures privacy, as encryption keys are stored on user devices, keeping messages secure during transmission. This architecture is particularly useful in network blackouts, censorship zones, and dense crowds. However, its effectiveness is limited in remote areas with sparse users, where communication relies on the signal strength of individual devices.

A recent investigation by IIT Delhi found that Android applications with precise location access can gather extensive information about users, including whether they are indoors or outdoors, the presence of crowded environments, and details about room layouts and activities, without using the phone’s camera or microphone. The study, led by MTech student Soham Nag and Professor Smruti R Sarangi, utilized a system called AndroCon, which analyzes low-level GPS signals to detect user activity and contextual information. AndroCon achieved up to 99% accuracy in identifying surroundings and over 87% accuracy in recognizing human activities, including subtle gestures. The research highlights significant privacy risks, as applications with fine-grained location permissions can extract sensitive data without user consent. The findings were published in the ACM Transactions on Sensor Networks.

Redstone in Minecraft is a complex element that can be both confusing and rewarding for players. While it appears simple—being mined and placed down—it often leads casual players to abandon it due to its perceived complexity. However, those who persist can unlock its potential for creating automated systems and machines. Redstone operates on real-world engineering principles, such as logic gates and circuits, allowing players to engage with concepts similar to electrical engineering. The lack of in-game guidance complicates its mastery, requiring players to learn through experimentation and trial and error. Advanced users can create intricate devices, including functioning CPUs, using Redstone. It fosters essential skills like problem-solving and logical reasoning, making it a valuable educational tool in STEM thinking.

The quality of Wi-Fi reception affects data throughput, making it important for users to monitor connection strength. Windows provides multiple ways to check Wi-Fi signal strength: 1. Taskbar Display: Users can click the Wi-Fi icon in the taskbar to view current network strength and nearby networks. 2. Windows Settings: In the “Settings” menu under “Network & Internet” and “Wi-Fi,” users can see signal strength represented by dark arcs next to the Wi-Fi name. 3. Control Panel: Accessing the “Network and Sharing Center” in the Control Panel shows a green icon indicating Wi-Fi strength, with an option to view more details by clicking the Wi-Fi name. 4. Command Prompt: Entering the command netsh wlan show interfaces in Command Prompt displays the reception strength, with 80-100% indicating excellent reception and below 60% indicating poor quality. 5. PowerShell Query: Users can execute a command in PowerShell to receive a percentage value of Wi-Fi signal strength. Adjusting laptop orientation or moving away from obstacles can improve reception.
