Electronic Arts (EA) reported a net revenue of .025 billion for the quarter ending September 30th, a year-on-year increase of 5.8 percent. Of this total, 35 percent came from full game sales and 65 percent from live services and other revenue streams. The Sims franchise contributed significantly, gaining 15 million new users and exceeding net bookings expectations. EA's net bookings for the quarter reached .079 billion, a 14 percent increase from the previous year. CEO Andrew Wilson noted the strong quarter and record Q2 net bookings, while CFO Stuart Canfield indicated that the company is raising its FY25 outlook due to exceeding guidance.

The Sims 4 expansion, Life and Death, introduces a new interactive career as a trainee reaper, allowing players to engage directly in gameplay. Players can fulfill bucket list items for spirits to find closure and potentially be reborn. Project Rene, the next installment in the Sims franchise, is confirmed to be in development with closed multiplayer testing starting this fall. It is not The Sims 5, but will coexist with The Sims 4. EA's president, Laura Miele, announced a dedicated team to address bugs and enhance The Sims 4, including updates to its core technology. Maxis is preparing to celebrate the 25th anniversary of The Sims series in February and will host a Behind The Sims presentation in January to provide more insights into Project Rene.
