The PC gaming segment is projected to outpace console revenue by 2028. A report from Newzoo indicates that games outside the top 20 are expected to account for 56% of PC revenue by 2025, up from 48% in 2022. The share of playtime for these lesser-known titles has increased from 33% to 42%, with a 44% rise in time spent on them between 2022 and 2025, while the overall PC segment has grown by 14%. A "middle layer" of titles, particularly RPGs and adventure games, is emerging as a substantial revenue source. Established games like Cyberpunk 2077, Elden Ring, and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim continue to contribute significantly to revenue.
