Microsoft is working on reducing the size of Windows 10 updates to align them closer to the update experience of Windows 11. This initiative includes discarding reverse differentials and has resulted in updates being trimmed by more than 20% in Windows 11 version 22H2. The smaller update sizes will benefit users by reducing bandwidth consumption and installation times, while also helping Microsoft streamline their service delivery.
