Google Play Protect Is Making Sideloading Apps More Tedious on Android Phones

The feature has been in place for about two months and helps protect devices from potentially harmful applications, especially when someone else has temporary access to the device. For improved effectiveness, it would be beneficial for Google to prompt for authentication with every sideload attempt and allow users to control the frequency of these notifications.

How To Create A New User On Windows 11 – SlashGear

Windows 11 users can enhance privacy by creating separate user profiles. To add a new user, go to Settings > Accounts > Other users, and click "Add account." Users can choose between a Microsoft account or a local account. For a Microsoft account, enter the associated email or phone number, then click Next and Finish. For a local account, select "I don't have this person's sign-in information," then "Add a user without a Microsoft account," enter a username, and optionally set a password. Users can also change the account type to Administrator afterward. To add a family member, go to Settings > Accounts > Family, click "Add someone," and input the email address or create one for a child. Choose the user type (Organizer or Member) and click Invite. For bulk user creation, use Computer Management by right-clicking the Start button, selecting Computer Management, expanding Local Users and Groups, right-clicking Users, and selecting New User. Enter the username and password, then click Create. Using the Netplwiz command, right-click the Start button, select Run, type "netplwiz," and click Add. Microsoft posts official BitLocker key recovery and back up guide for Windows 11/10 PCs

In May, Microsoft considered implementing default encryption for Windows 11 24H2 Home PCs, which may affect performance. Users need a BitLocker recovery key for encryption changes, which is more accessible through a Microsoft Account than a local account. Microsoft has released new guides on BitLocker device encryption, including instructions for retrieving recovery keys linked to Microsoft or work/school accounts. Users are advised to back up their BitLocker recovery keys, with options to save them to a Microsoft Account, USB flash drive, file, or print them.
