New York City mayor Zohran Mamdani debuted on Twitch on May 21 with a show called "Talk with the People," where he interacted with New Yorkers and answered questions in real-time. During the stream, he was asked about playing Minecraft and admitted he had not played it, confusing it with a movie adaptation released earlier this year. Despite this moment, he addressed significant topics such as his 4.7 billion executive budget, changes to SNAP eligibility, and free childcare initiatives. The Twitch chat was chaotic, with viewers requesting him to play various games, including Minecraft, Fortnite, and Undertale. Mamdani's unfamiliarity with Minecraft was notable, given its popularity and cultural significance. His Twitch channel is available at nyc_mayor for future episodes.

Microsoft is enhancing the search functionality in Windows 11 by prioritizing local results over web-based suggestions in response to user frustrations. Previously, searches could yield irrelevant web results, such as movies instead of applications. The taskbar search box will now ensure that files and applications are more prominently displayed when they match the user's query. While web results will still be available, the focus will be on improving search relevance. This change reflects Microsoft's efforts to refine Windows 11 and address user dissatisfaction with the previous search experience.

Samsung's Device Care app, version 13.8.80.7, introduces a feature to block applications that frequently send advertisement notifications. This feature allows users to place problematic apps into a "Deep Sleep" mode, silencing their notifications. Users can choose between Basic blocking, which uses internal data to restrict known ad-spamming apps, and Intelligent blocking, which analyzes notifications in real-time. The feature is currently available only for the Galaxy S26 series and can be monitored through the settings path: Settings -> Device care -> Care report -> Excessive alerts. The update is being rolled out in phases via the Galaxy Store.

In the latest update, Marathon version 1.0.6.2, Bungie has adjusted the combat shotgun to address previous over-nerfing. They are extending the Sponsored Dire Marsh queue for at least another week, until May 6, to provide a balanced environment. Bungie is working on adjustments to grenade stock counts and stack sizes due to an overwhelming number of grenades in matches. The Ares railgun has gained popularity after recent buffs, allowing indefinite charge and improved stats, but the Impact Shockwave mod has caused one-shot kills, which Bungie plans to fix. The WSTR weapon's damage nerf was intended to be temporary, and it is expected to perform similarly against AI enemies as before while maintaining its two-shot-kill capability.
