The open beta remains active until the official launch, allowing players to explore the game and purchase exclusive cosmetics. ‘We’re gonna do right by you’: Splitgate 2 CEO apologizes for server meltdown after the open beta goes live

The open beta for Splitgate 2 was launched on May 22 but faced significant challenges, leading developer 1047 Games to take the servers offline shortly after. NVIDIA DLSS 4 Multi Frame Generation and Other RTX Updates Shown Off for Upcoming and Existing PC Games

NVIDIA's DLSS 4 technology is integrated into over 125 games and applications. Portal with RTX has upgraded from DLSS 3.5 to DLSS 4, improving performance with the GeForce RTX 5090 achieving an average of 277 frames per second. Roadcraft will launch with DLSS Frame Generation, DLSS Super Resolution, and DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation, running at over 250 frames per second on the RTX 5090. SplitGate 2 will fully integrate DLSS 4 technologies in its Open Beta, while NARAKA: Bladepoint will receive a path tracing update, showcasing approximately 350 frames per second. F1 25 will launch on May 24 with DLSS 4 technologies, and Dune: Awakening will feature these technologies in early June. MindsEye will launch on June 10 with full DLSS 4 support, followed by Remedy's FBC: Firebreak on June 17. Wuchang: Fallen Feathers will launch on July 24 with complete DLSS technologies but without ray tracing. inZOI will receive a DLSS 4 update in August. Horizon 'clone' Light of Motiram runs at over 400 frames per second with DLSS 4 technologies. Crimson Desert will incorporate DLSS 4 technologies and ray-traced effects, aiming for high-quality graphics and smooth gameplay.

The Splitgate 2 open alpha is live now and very fun

In a recent preview session for Splitgate 2, hosted by 1047 Games, players experienced the alpha version available from February 27 to March 2, featuring various game modes. One notable mode is Hotzone, where teams capture two designated hills to win, with an increasing respawn time that can be reduced by teammates achieving kills. Another mode, Splitball, allows scoring goals while enabling opponents to reclaim the ball. The alpha introduces changes based on community feedback, including shortened respawn times, extended round durations, and enhanced portal mechanics with additional portal walls and a new Launch Portal feature. The game supports crossplay across PC, PS5, and Xbox, inviting players to reconnect and experience the evolution of Splitgate.

Epic Games Store Year in Review Released – Players Spend 2.68 Billion Hours Playing Third-Party PC Titles

Players spent .09 billion on the platform, with 5 million on exclusive third-party titles. Future plans include expanding the Free Games Program to mobile platforms and enhancing the Epic Games Store Mobile App, along with supporting AAB file types and mobile self-publishing tools. Upcoming titles include Splitgate 2, 33 Immortals, Killing Floor 3, Borderlands 4, and Cronos: The New Dawn.

Splitgate 2 isn’t ‘Halo with portals’ anymore, but it may be something even better
