Super Mario Bros. Remastered Got Cool Minecraft & Sonic Packs

In July 2025, Super Mario Bros. Remastered was launched for PC as a fan-driven remake of the NES classic, featuring enhanced physics, audio, and graphics. The remastered version includes The Lost Levels, Super Mario Bros. Special, and a revamped All Night Nippon: Super Mario Bros. A Minecraft Pack was released, transforming the game's aesthetics into a Minecraft-inspired experience, while another resource pack echoes the graphics of New Super Mario Bros. for the Nintendo Wii. A mod also allows players to experience the game in a style reminiscent of Super Mario Land, and an 8-bit Sonic pack replaces Mario sprites with Sonic's, maintaining the original level designs and music. Super Mario Bros. Remastered is available for download, along with the New Super Mario Bros. Wii and Sonic packs.

ININ Games has announced R-Type Dimensions III, coming to PC in May 2026

ININ Games has announced R-Type Dimensions III, set to launch on PC in May 2026. The game will feature high-end 3D graphics, enhanced animations, and detailed environments while capturing the essence of the original arcade games. This week's update introduces a new Minecraft Server Management Protocol that allows real-time queries of player activity, adjustments to game rules, and updates to server settings. Several server properties have been transitioned into game rules, enabling modifications while the server is operational. Players can now use player icons in chat, and the copper golem has received enhancements along with various bug fixes. New features include support for the Halychian language. Changes to recipes now require Hanging Signs to be crafted exclusively with Iron Chains. The server list requires manual entry for new server names, and enhanced text input functionality allows text selection via mouse dragging. UI components will change the mouse cursor shape for better interaction, with a hand-shaped cursor for clickable text labels. Minor tweaks include adjustments to the hitbox of Copper Golems, which is now 0.98 blocks in height, and improvements to their functionality. The Data Pack version has been updated to 85.0, and the Resource Pack version is now at 67.0. Shovel Game combines Minecraft, Mozart and hell

Shovel Game is a short-form first-person experience that combines elements reminiscent of Minecraft’s destructible environments. Players navigate through bizarre spaces, mining only select blocks while avoiding lethal sprites resembling Zordon from Power Rangers. The game features a demo on Itch.io and is set to launch on Steam. It includes a labyrinth with blue phantoms and unsettling imagery in a cosmic chapel. The game was developed by Luke Vincent for a "shovelware horror" game jam. Another entry from the same jam, titled Crank It, was created by Mike Klubnika and James Dornan, involving navigation through a cavernous hallway filled with gadgets and lurking horrors.
