The Audible app for Android, version 26.19.13, has a significant bug affecting cloud syncing and license verification, causing it to fail to recognize downloaded audiobooks. Users are experiencing repeated downloads over mobile networks despite setting preferences to Wi-Fi only, leading to excessive storage consumption of over 26GB on some devices. This issue is particularly problematic for users with limited data plans, as it depletes their data allowances quickly.

Financial service institutions are increasingly exploring AI applications to alleviate operational burdens and gain a competitive edge, but face challenges with legacy data infrastructures that may not meet modern demands. The need for continuous availability and compliance is critical, as even brief downtime can have catastrophic consequences. Aging databases struggle with high-volume transactions and real-time analytics, prompting a focus on predictive maintenance and infrastructure automation. Microsoft Azure's PostgreSQL managed services, including Azure Database for PostgreSQL, address these challenges by providing flexible performance scaling and ensuring high availability. The service can trigger automatic failover within 60 to 120 seconds during outages, guaranteeing up to a 99.99% availability SLA. It supports read replicas for offloading analytics without impacting primary database performance and offers layered security controls, including encryption at rest and network isolation. Azure Database for PostgreSQL simplifies compliance with standards such as PCI DSS and SOC by enabling centralized identity and access management through Microsoft Entra ID authentication. It integrates seamlessly with the Microsoft ecosystem, allowing organizations to connect data to analytics and AI services without complex ETL processes. BNY Mellon successfully modernized its data platform by migrating to Azure Database for PostgreSQL in nine months, achieving improved resilience and allowing engineering teams to focus on innovation. The platform supports high availability, backup capabilities, and extensibility, empowering financial institutions to remain innovative in the era of AI.

Microsoft has addressed the YellowKey vulnerability, a zero-day flaw in Windows BitLocker identified as CVE-2026-45585. This vulnerability allows unauthorized access to BitLocker-protected drives through a specific exploitation process involving 'FsTx' files. The flaw was disclosed by an anonymous researcher known as 'Nightmare Eclipse.' Microsoft has released mitigation strategies, including removing the autofstx.exe entry from the Session Manager's BootExecute REGMULTISZ value and reestablishing BitLocker trust for WinRE. Additionally, users are advised to change BitLocker settings from "TPM-only" to "TPM+PIN" mode, requiring a pre-boot PIN for drive decryption, and to enable "Require additional authentication at startup" for unencrypted devices.

Microsoft has acknowledged installation issues with the May 2026 Security Update for Windows 11, specifically error code 0x800f0922, affecting devices on versions 24H2 and 25H2 after installing update (KB5089549) released on May 12. The failures occur during the reboot phase, often around 35 percent, primarily on devices with 10MB or less free space in the EFI System Partition (ESP). For consumer and unmanaged business devices, Microsoft has implemented a Known Issue Rollback (KIR), and restarting the computer may resolve the issue. For managed devices, network administrators must manually deploy a Group Policy workaround. Microsoft suggests modifying a Registry value to decrease reserved padding in the EFI partition as a potential fix, along with restarting the computer and checking for updates. A permanent solution is planned for a future Windows update.

Attendees at the weekend event can earn a Crafter Cape by collecting three Emerald Stickers, which are obtained by participating in designated Minecraft sessions and activities. Each attendee is allowed only one cape, but there is no limit on the total number of capes distributed. To collect Emerald Stickers, attendees must engage in sessions labeled with “Minecraft Emerald” or participate in activities at the Minecraft Arena. Stickers can be placed in the Inventory Ribbon, which has three slots and can be collected at the Swag Bag kiosk. After collecting the stickers, attendees can redeem their cape at the Cape Trader in the Minecraft Village within the Arena. A wristband scan and verification of the completed ribbon are required to receive a Cape Card with a unique in-game code. For those unable to attend, an alternate Builder Cape will be available online during Minecraft LIVE on May 30.

Outward 2, the sequel to Nine Dots' survival RPG, is set to launch in early access on July 17. The game is designed to run on a wide range of systems, maintaining visual quality even at lower settings. Maximum settings require a GeForce RTX 4080 and 32 GB of RAM, while medium settings can be played with a GTX 3060 and 16 GB of RAM. The "potato" settings can run on a GTX 750 Ti and 8 GB of RAM at 30 FPS. The minimum system requirements include Windows 10, an Intel Core i5-2500K or AMD FX-6300 processor, 8 GB RAM, and a GTX 750 Ti or AMD Radeon R7 260 graphics card. The recommended requirements are an Intel Core i7-3770 or AMD Ryzen 5 1600 processor, 16 GB RAM, and a GTX 1060 or AMD Radeon RX 580 graphics card. A closed beta will start on May 26, with more details to be announced.

The accumulation of app bloat and cache buildup on digital devices can significantly impact storage and performance. As users install more applications, valuable space for photos, videos, and new apps is consumed, leading to a decline in device performance. Low storage levels hinder the management of temporary files, system updates, and background processes, resulting in sluggish app responses. Social media applications like Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook are particularly demanding on storage due to their continuous preloading of content and caching of images and videos. Older games and seldom-used apps also contribute to storage issues by pulling updates and cache files. Currently, Android users have limited automated solutions for storage management, requiring them to take proactive measures such as streamlining their app inventory or expanding storage with SD cards. Effective strategies include assessing and deleting unused applications, consolidating workflows to a single platform, and regularly clearing caches from social media apps, streaming services, and web browsers to free up storage and improve device performance.

Many AI systems face a challenge in maintaining continuity during inference, leading to a "memory" problem where models perform well in isolated interactions but struggle with context over extended workflows. This issue is particularly significant for operational AI, which requires a consistent understanding of context. Traditional AI architectures may not adequately address this gap, resulting in inefficiencies. The blog post proposes using PostgreSQL as a solution for durable memory, operational state, and governance in enterprise AI systems, enhancing the ability of AI models to retain context over time. A typical modern AI stack includes large language models, vector databases, object storage, caching mechanisms, workflow engines, orchestration tools, and observability frameworks. As organizations move from experimentation to production, coherent long-term context management becomes crucial, and integrating PostgreSQL could provide the necessary infrastructure for sustained operational success.
