Microsoft will retire the Meeting Insight feature for Outlook users by early September 2026, after which users will lose access to meeting insights, relevant files, and emails. The company is introducing a new feature called "Prepare for this meeting" to summarize content for upcoming meetings. Previously, Meeting Insight did not require a Microsoft 365 Copilot license, but Microsoft is now requiring this license for Copilot Chat across applications like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote. Microsoft has expanded its Copilot initiative to nearly 80 products and is shifting towards a paid model for features that were once complimentary.

Microsoft is set to launch the 2026 Update for Windows 11, known as version 26H2, later this year. This will be the fifth feature update for the operating system. The upgrade from version 25H2 to 26H2 will utilize an Enablement Package (eKB), allowing for a transition similar to a standard monthly cumulative update without requiring a full reinstallation. Users can also upgrade from Windows 10 using an ISO file or Microsoft installation media, which ensures files, applications, and settings remain intact. Upgrading to version 26H2 extends the support lifecycle of devices by an additional year, with Microsoft providing 24 months of support for Home and Pro editions and 36 months for Enterprise and Education editions. Version 25H2 will continue to receive support until October 2027, and users are advised to plan upgrades before this support ends. Windows 11 version 26H2 has the same hardware requirements as version 25H2, which include a 1GHz processor with at least two cores, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, UEFI firmware with Secure Boot, TPM version 2.0, DirectX 12 compatible graphics, and a high-definition display. The rollout of the update will be gradual, following a Controlled Feature Rollout (CFR) strategy, meaning not all devices will receive the update immediately.

Falling Frontier, a procedurally generated space RTS, is highly wishlisted on Steam and promises detailed ship combat. Chronicles: Medieval, releasing in 2026, offers a sandbox strategy experience during the Hundred Years’ War, blending free-roaming gameplay with large-scale battles. North Korea's Contagious Interview hackers have been using a deceptive strategy to target developers by posing as recruiters and embedding malware in SVG files. Elastic Security Labs discovered that the attackers hid malicious payloads within HTML comment blocks of these files, allowing the malware to evade antivirus detection. At the time of the findings, no antivirus engines flagged the compromised repositories, which included trojanized GitHub repositories disguised as coding challenges. The malware executed automatically at server startup and deployed four modules: a browser credential and cryptocurrency wallet stealer, a file stealer, a remote access Trojan, and a clipboard monitor. The campaign, tracked as REF9403, is part of the ongoing Contagious Interview operation attributed to North Korea's Lazarus Group, which aims to generate revenue through cryptocurrency theft. Developers are advised to audit any projects run from unsolicited sources and to monitor specific domains associated with the attack.
