By Royal Decree: Medieval Fantasy RPG Sovereign Tower Launches Today on PC!

On August 6, 2026, the Rennes-based studio WILD WITS, in collaboration with publisher Curve Games, released Sovereign Tower, a medieval fantasy round-table RPG available on PC starting at 5 PM BST. Players assume the role of the Sovereign, navigating a court filled with eccentric knights while managing the demands of a kingdom. The game involves recruiting Knights with unique strengths, assigning them to quests, and balancing relationships with the populace and nobles. Players can consult a Demon to rewind time and rectify mistakes. A supporter bundle is available on Steam, including the full game and soundtrack featuring songs from Hildegard Von Blingin’. Wild Wits, founded in 2021, specializes in narrative-driven experiences, while Curve Games is known for a diverse catalog of over 50 titles. G4F Records produces original soundtracks for video games and visual media.

Causality Chain is a series at PC Gamer exploring connections between history, culture, and video games. Keanu Reeves, known for his roles in films, is linked to Buddhist teachings through a narrative that traces back to the 1590s with Xuanzang's travels, which inspired the tale "Journey to the West." Assassin’s Creed Valhalla director comes back to Ubisoft to be game director for the entire brand

The next Xbox could play every Xbox game ever made

The console may not include a disc drive, complicating the concept of backwards compatibility. A leaked memo indicates that Xbox 360 games will also be available on PC and run on Helix, allowing access to five generations of Xbox games on one platform. Microsoft is seeking cooperation from game publishers to facilitate the transition of Xbox discs to digital formats, requiring individual authorization for original Xbox and Xbox 360 titles. Publishers can benefit financially by repackaging older titles and converting physical disc owners into digital customers. The success of Project Helix hinges on publisher consent, as licensing issues could impact the availability of older titles.
