Viking RTS Northgard is now Northgard: Definitive Edition, thanks to an update that folds in its major DLC and adds a bunch of new stuff free to existing players

Northgard, a Viking-themed RTS released in 2018, features traditional strategy mechanics along with dynamic weather systems and a region-based expansion approach. Fraser Brown rated it 84%, noting it transcends nostalgia. The Northgard: Definitive Edition adds a Valhalla-themed biome and makes previously exclusive biomes available in various modes, along with a revamped in-game shop and a digital artbook. Existing players receive these updates for free, while new players can purchase the Definitive Edition at a 60% discount, reducing the price from £29.50 to £11.80 until December 18. Additionally, Tempest Rising has introduced superweapons for every faction and a new playable Veti faction currently in public beta testing.

Already my favorite RTS this year, Tempest Rising is going full Command and Conquer by adding superweapons

The upcoming update for Tempest Rising will introduce two new superweapons: the Drone Strike Station for the Global Defense Force (GDF) and the Excavator Platform for the Tempest Dynasty. The Drone Strike Station allows players to call in orbital strikes and deploy nine tungsten Drone Turrets, while the Excavator Platform can create shockwaves, transport units underground, and restore health to infantry. These additions aim to enhance gameplay strategies for both factions.

Tempest Rising’s next update will add massive superweapons that’ll let you ‘unload devastating payloads onto the enemy’

Slipgate Ironworks is introducing two new superweapons for the factions in Tempest Rising: a drone strike station for the Global Defense Force (GDF) and an excavator platform for the Tempest Dynasty. The GDF's drone strike station allows for drone strikes at designated coordinates, while the excavator platform can launch surprise attacks from underground and deploy a combat excavator that causes shockwaves. There is speculation about the potential introduction of a third playable faction, as the alien Veti currently serve as an AI adversary.
