Dune: Awakening will host a massive beta weekend in just a couple of weeks: ‘Tens of thousands of beta keys will be unleashed’

Dune: Awakening is set for official release on June 10. An extensive beta weekend will take place from May 9 to May 12, featuring the largest beta test to date. A Global Dune: Awakening LAN Party Broadcast will occur on May 10 from London and PAX East, where tens of thousands of beta keys will be distributed.

Survival MMO Dune: Awakening launches in May and I am way more excited about it than I thought I’d be

Funcom has announced that Dune: Awakening will be released on May 20 for PC. The game is a survival MMO set in an alternate timeline of Arrakis, where players take on the role of a minion sent by the Bene Gesserit to find the Fremen and awaken the sleeper. Players will establish a base, fend off scavengers, and explore dungeons for resources. The gameplay includes exploration and combat, as well as building and customizing homes. As players progress, they will engage in the political dynamics of the Dune universe, navigating the Landsraad and aligning with various factions.

Dune: Awakening Designed With Controller In Mind, Despite Launching On PC First

Nils Ryborg, producer of Dune: Awakening, stated that the game is being developed with a "console-first" strategy, which simplifies the transition to PC. The game will feature hundreds of players competing for dominance over Arrakis and its Spice. The PC version is expected to launch in early 2025, while the console versions for Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 may release sometime after, potentially in late 2025 or beyond.
