Windows Run, accessed via the Win + R shortcut, is being tested for a modern design update in newer preview builds of Windows 11. The updated version features a slimmer design similar to a floating search bar, with a new 'Run' icon and a centered text field. This modern variant will be optional, allowing users to switch back to the classic version if desired. Microsoft is also exploring additional advanced features for the modern Run dialog, which maintains comparable performance to the legacy version.
The setup involves a Keenetic router with a 2TB USB drive, functioning as a NAS for network storage. It utilizes three Docker containers: Transmission with Flood UI for torrent management, Jellyfin as a media server, and a Telegram bot for adding torrents and receiving notifications. The process allows users to send .torrent files via Telegram, which are then downloaded and made available in Jellyfin for viewing on various devices. The configuration requires Docker, a NAS or router with SMB share, and a Telegram account. The system is designed to maintain data integrity through OS reinstalls, and it can be set up quickly using a provided repository and configuration files.

Microsoft is rolling out a new Experimental Windows Insider channel, transitioning users from the Dev Channel to the Experimental Channel with updates from the 26300 series builds. Over the coming weeks, Canary testers using the 28000 series will be moved to the Experimental (26H1) Channel, while those on the 29500 series will go to the Experimental (Future Platforms) Channel. The latest build for the Dev Channel is 26300.8289, which includes enhancements such as improved Windows Update functionalities and options to skip updates during the out-of-the-box experience. Dev Channel testers can enable the Experimental Channel option through Settings. The Experimental Channel will allow switching between 26H1 builds and future platform builds. Canary Channel testers have access to build 28200.1873, which rebrands the Xbox full-screen experience and improves the Touch Keyboard. Additionally, build 29576.1000 is available for testers on the 29500 series, featuring a redesigned volume slider and new metrics in Task Manager. Beta Channel Insiders can download build 26200.8283, which includes minor adjustments to the Start Menu and print drivers, but the new Beta experience will not be immediately available.
Microsoft has released a pre-release wave of enhancements for Windows 11 through the Windows Insider Program, introducing three notable features:
1. A new Feature flags interface that allows users to toggle new features immediately.
2. An updated experience providing access to both Experimental and Beta channels.
3. The ability to pause Windows Updates indefinitely using a calendar interface.
Users must enroll in the Windows Insider Program to access these features. The new "Pick a date" button for pausing updates replaces the previous drop-down menu, allowing users to select specific dates for update pauses. The Experimental channel has replaced the Dev channel, and users can now revert to a stable version with the "Unenroll Device" option. Additionally, users can pause updates for up to 35 days, with the option to extend this pause indefinitely. Future updates will also introduce an "Available updates" interface.
WhatsApp is reportedly working on incorporating support for notification bubbles, a feature that allows conversations to be displayed in a floating format, enabling users to switch between chats and other applications easily. This feature is currently in early beta versions and is not yet available to the general public. Unlike Facebook Messenger, which uses a semi-custom solution for bubbles on non-Pixel devices, WhatsApp aims for a more cohesive implementation that aligns with Android's native bubble functionality. There is no official timeline for the rollout of this feature to all users.

Google has introduced a verified email feature for Android applications via its Credential Manager API, allowing users to access their verified email addresses directly from their devices without traditional verification steps like OTPs or email links. Users receive a system-level prompt to share their verified email with a single tap, improving the user experience by eliminating the need to switch between apps. This feature simplifies the onboarding process for developers, reducing user drop-offs during registration and potentially improving conversion rates. Currently, it supports consumer Google Accounts, with plans for broader adoption pending support from other credential issuers. The system is intended for various use cases, including account creation, re-authentication, and recovery, while maintaining existing verification methods for non-Google accounts. This initiative is part of Google's effort to enhance authentication integration into the operating system and reduce reliance on passwords and multi-step verification.
