Elite Dangerous just implemented an entire system colonisation mechanic, in case you really want to get off this planet

The Trailblazers update in Elite Dangerous introduces a new system colonization feature, currently in beta, allowing players to claim and develop their own star systems. Players can start the colonization process at any space station by engaging with a new contact dedicated to this feature. They must invest 25,000,000 credits to secure a claim on a new system, which requires careful planning. Once a claim is established, players need to provide resources to develop their settlements. The update also allows players to creatively name their stations using premium currency.
