Modern Warfare 4 beta dates set for August, and this year Game Pass subscribers get no special treatment

Activision has announced the beta schedule for Modern Warfare 4, with two beta weekends planned. The first weekend, from August 21-25, is exclusive to pre-order customers on PC, PS5, and Xbox, while the second weekend, from August 28 to September 1, is an open public beta available on all platforms, including the Switch 2. Participants will have the opportunity to unlock 19 weapons and engage in various combat scenarios, including 3v3 skirmishes and larger battles with vehicles. Players can test new and returning game modes, such as Search & Destroy and Kill Block, as well as a Training Mobility Course. The full game is set to release in late October.

Two ‘Day One’ Games Are Available Today Across Xbox And PC Game Pass (July 17)

This week, Xbox Game Pass has seen the release of new titles, including two "day one" releases on Friday: FixForce and Fogpiercer. FixForce is a co-op extraction platformer for Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Cloud, allowing up to six players to navigate a post-apocalyptic world using a drill-wrench to overcome challenges. Fogpiercer is a PC-exclusive turn-based deckbuilder roguelite where players construct a train and engage in tactical battles in a foggy environment. It is set to launch around 11 AM EDT / 2 PM EDT / 7 PM BST and has received positive reviews averaging around 7/10. Additionally, MAVRIX, a downhill biking game, launched on Thursday and has a score of 7.8/10 from Xbox Tavern.

40K XCOM-like Chaos Gate – Daemonhunters is getting a sequel and this time we’ll get to purge ‘seven distinctive enemy factions’

In 1998, Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate was released as a turn-based tactics game featuring the Ultramarines and Chaos. In 2022, Chaos Gate – Daemonhunters was launched, focusing on the Grey Knights and their battle against Chaos, drawing inspiration from the XCOM series. Daemonhunters received feedback regarding limited enemy diversity, primarily featuring Nurgle's minions. A sequel is announced to introduce seven distinct enemy factions. The Warhammer Skulls showcase revealed updates including a release date and DLC roadmap for Dawn of War 4, a new Skitarii class for Darktide, a platformer with a ratman protagonist, and tiger warrior DLC for Total War: Warhammer 3. Updates will be available on Steam and the Epic Games Store.
