‘Everybody should play every fighting game’ says Invincible VS director: ‘They’re just fun’

The recent launch of the fighting game 2XKO resulted in the layoff of 80 developers shortly after its debut. This year has seen several new fighting game titles, including Marvel Tōkon and licensed games Avatar Legends and Invincible VS. Invincible VS, developed by a team with experience from Killer Instinct, features a dynamic tag team experience and aims to capture the essence of multi-character battles from its animated source material. The game is part of a series of releases scheduled over ten months, with a focus on community feedback and ongoing playtesting. Developers are also hinting at a single-player mode involving contributions from the show's writers.

After more than six years of waiting, League of Legends fighting game 2XKO gets a launch date

Riot Games is launching a fighting game called 2XKO, previously known as Project L, which has been in development for over six years. The game will enter early access for PC players on October 7, featuring a unique 2v2 gameplay and a free-to-play model. Upon launch, the game will have ten characters, with a new fighter being introduced in Season 0. Riot plans to implement a seasonal structure with five seasons in 2026, introducing a new fighter approximately every two and a half months. The First Impact program will support 22 community-led tournaments across various regions, with the first event, Evo France: 2 NICE KO, occurring three days after the game's launch.
