Electronic Arts implemented the Denuvo anti-piracy software to protect the PC version of Tales of Kenzera: ZAU, but PC gamers have already found a way to run the game through the Switch emulator Ryujinx, leading to the game being leaked on torrent trackers. Nintendo's efforts to combat piracy through the Yuzu emulator have also failed, as Switch versions of games continue to leak to PC gamers shortly after release.

UK developer Surgent Studios has announced job cuts, laying off "just over a dozen people" following reports on LinkedIn about staff reductions. Despite the layoffs, the company expressed pride in the team's work on Zau and their focus remains on supporting those affected, continuing work on Zau, and planning for future creative projects.
