Having recovery and/or SSD problems after recent Windows updates? You’re not alone.

Users of Windows 11 24H2 are experiencing significant disruptions during large file transfers on certain SSDs after installing update KB5063878. The issue is particularly noticeable when installing large updates for resource-intensive games, such as Cyberpunk 2077. During these transfers, Windows may fail to recognize the SSD, especially if it is over 60 percent full and the data exceeds 50GB. While most SSDs regain visibility after a reboot, some, like a 2TB Western Digital SA510, do not. Microsoft is investigating the issue but has not officially listed it as a known problem. Phison, a manufacturer of SSD controllers, is also looking into the matter.
