Square Enix announces multiplayer murder mystery action game KILLER INN for PC

Square Enix and Tactic Studios have announced KILLER INN, a multiplayer murder mystery action game. A closed beta test for PC users via Steam will be launched, with dates to be announced. Players can request access on the game's Steam page. The game features 24 players, where some act as wolves trying to blend in while others are lambs aiming to survive. Players collect clues from crime scenes to identify the killer and can use various items for combat and strategy. The game includes a focus mode for enhanced awareness and a 3D audio voice chat for communication. Character customization allows players to choose unique characters with distinct abilities. Players can engage solo or form teams, and trailers and gameplay videos are available for viewing.

Neptunia Game Maker R:Evolution coming to PC in 2025

Idea Factory International will release Neptunia Game Maker R:Evolution for PC via Steam in 2025. The game launched in Japan on August 10, 2023, for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Switch. Activision says COD microtransaction ads were accidental test

Activision clarified that the microtransactions in the Loadout menus of Black Ops 6 and Warzone were not intended for public release and were part of an internal test that accidentally went live during the Season 04 update. The company stated that this UI feature test, which revealed select store content, was published in error and has since been removed from the live game.

Migrate Google Cloud SQL for PostgreSQL to Amazon RDS and Amazon Aurora using pglogical

PostgreSQL is a popular open-source relational database used by enterprise developers and startups, enabling rapid prototyping and supporting mission-critical applications. Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL and Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL-Compatible Edition facilitate easy setup, operation, and scaling of PostgreSQL deployments in the AWS Cloud, automating administrative tasks like software installation, storage management, and backups. The pglogical extension, compatible with PostgreSQL versions 9.4 and higher, allows for asynchronous replication and is supported on RDS for PostgreSQL and Aurora PostgreSQL from version 12. It uses a publisher/subscriber model for logical streaming replication. To migrate a PostgreSQL database from Google Cloud SQL to RDS for PostgreSQL or Aurora PostgreSQL, users must configure the primary database in Cloud SQL, create a PostgreSQL user with replication privileges, enable logical replication parameters, and create the pglogical extension. The RDS instance also requires a special user for replication, enabling logical replication parameters and creating the pglogical extension. Known limitations of pglogical include the inability to replicate primary key changes directly, the need to manually transfer extensions, and the lack of support for materialized views and large objects. Workarounds involve using surrogate keys for primary keys, manually creating extensions, and converting large objects to bytea columns or storing them in Amazon S3. DDL statements are not automatically replicated, but can be queued using the pglogical.replicate_ddl_command function.
