Jonathan Joss, who appeared in Cyberpunk 2077 and Red Dead Redemption, shot dead in Texas

Jonathan Joss, a 59-year-old actor known for his roles in video games and as John Redcorn in King of the Hill, was shot multiple times during a confrontation with a neighbor, Sigfredo Alvarez Ceja, near his former residence, which had burned down earlier this year. Microsoft: Windows CLFS zero-day exploited by ransomware gang

Microsoft reported that the RansomEXX ransomware gang has been exploiting a critical zero-day vulnerability in the Windows Common Log File System, identified as CVE-2025-29824, allowing them to gain SYSTEM privileges on targeted systems. This vulnerability stems from a use-after-free flaw and affects organizations in various sectors, including IT and real estate in the US, financial institutions in Venezuela, a Spanish software company, and the retail sector in Saudi Arabia. Microsoft has released security updates for most affected Windows versions but has postponed patches for Windows 10 x64 and 32-bit systems. Customers running Windows 11, version 24H2, are not vulnerable to the exploitation. The RansomEXX group, also known as Storm-2460, uses the PipeMagic backdoor malware to facilitate the exploitation of CVE-2025-29824, alongside ransomware payloads. The group has targeted high-profile organizations, including GIGABYTE, Konica Minolta, the Texas Department of Transportation, Brazil's court system, Montreal's STM public transport system, and government software provider Tyler Technologies.

McDonald's is launching a new Happy Meal in collaboration with "A Minecraft Movie" on April 1, ahead of the film's release on April 4. This collaboration will introduce new desserts in Canada, the UK, and Singapore, including an apple cake McFlurry in the UK, an apple shake in Canada, and a cotton candy McFlurry, sundae, and ice cream cone in Singapore. The 'Minecraft' meal will feature a Big Mac or 10-piece Chicken McNuggets with medium fries and a drink, served with a new Nether Flame Sauce. The themed meal includes twelve Block World toys or six exclusive collectibles that unlock unique skins in the Minecraft Marketplace. Spanish-language Android app created to help Hispanic smokers quit

Researchers at the University of Houston have launched Impacto, a Spanish-language Android app aimed at helping Hispanic smokers quit. The app addresses unique challenges faced by this community and has shown promising results in a pilot test, published in the Journal of Substance Abuse & Addiction Treatment, including reduced daily smoking rates and improved cessation outcomes. The pilot study involved 30 Hispanic smokers, averaging 31 years of age with over 15 years of smoking history, who consumed approximately 15 cigarettes daily. The app guides users through four lessons each week for eight weeks, incorporating interoceptive exercises to manage anxiety. Results indicated that 65.4% of participants reported smoking abstinence four weeks after their quit date, alongside decreased cigarette consumption and anxiety sensitivity. High feasibility, acceptability, and engagement were noted among users. A randomized control clinical trial is planned to further evaluate the app's effectiveness.
