The NES emulator, 3dSen, was fully released today, and a fan-driven project called SpaghettiKart, a PC version of Mario Kart 64, has also been unveiled. SpaghettiKart is created through reverse engineering and features clean code without any lines from the original game, allowing for public sharing. It requires players to generate the O2R from their own ROMs and currently supports only the US version of Mario Kart 64. Compatibility with Mario Kart 64 HD is uncertain, and while future enhancements like Path Tracing effects and an HD Texture Pack are hoped for, they have not been confirmed. SpaghettiKart includes unique PC-only features such as a Track Editor, Custom Track Importer, Crystal Clear Audio, Harder CPUs, and Freecam. It is available for download with an installation guide.

The gaming community has revived underperforming hardware, successfully running Minecraft on a 20-year-old GPU, the 3D Phantom XP-2800, with only 8MB of VRAM. A video from Budget-Builds Official details this achievement using an antiquated desktop with Windows XP. Initially, Minecraft Alpha 1.2.6 faced OpenGL compatibility issues, which were resolved by using Microsoft-provided SiS drivers for the card, allowing it to display the game on a CRT monitor. After updates, the game ran, but attempts to run Minecraft 1.6.4 resulted in it loading at one frame per second before crashing. The team optimized performance by removing visual effects, lowering the resolution, and hosting the world server on a nearby laptop, along with using an 8x8 texture pack to stabilize the game.

Square Enix has released the first title update for the PC version of Final Fantasy 7: Rebirth, known as Patch 1.001, which is 17.7GB in size. The patch improves overall game stability and includes several bug fixes. It updates the DirectStorage DLL for better performance and sets the graphics preset to ‘Low’ for first-time launches on Steam Deck, with saved settings applied on subsequent launches. For PCs with NVIDIA DLSS, the default ‘Anti-Aliasing Method’ is now set to ‘DLSS’. The update does not address shader compilation stutters or low-quality textures and is considered a minor hotfix. A 4K Texture Pack is available for download, enhancing around 1,300 environmental textures. Steam will automatically download this update during the next client launch.
