New York Has a Gamer Mayor Now — and a $2.6 Billion Game Industry to Match

Gravity Circuit 2 announced for PS5, Switch, and PC

Publisher Dear Villagers and developer Domesticated Ant Games are releasing Gravity Circuit 2 in 2027. It is a side-scrolling action platformer for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC (Steam and Epic Games Store). Players will control Kai and Cable to confront the Hunter Army. The game features two playable characters with distinct fighting styles, over a dozen stages with unique bosses, customizable loadouts, and hidden collectibles. The soundtrack is composed by Dominic Ninmark. Domesticated Ant Games is an independent studio based in Finland, founded in 2021.

Other events include “Ten-Minute Miscellany” at Thalian Hall, “Mahalia: A Gospel Musical” by Techmoja Dance Company, “Twelfth Night” by Cape Fear Shakespeare, and a stand-up comedy show by Nick Murphy at Dead Crow Comedy Room. On May 30, the Port City Highland Games will take place at 3600 Randall Parkway, celebrating Scottish heritage and benefiting paws4vets, with over 1,500 participants expected. Other events include NC Vibe Fest, a performance by Striking Copper at Waterline Brewing, The Pop Culture Expo at Elk’s Lodge, Venus Flytrap Festival at BSL Community Center, and CFCC Riverfront Boat Show. On May 31, “Dear Evan Hansen” will be performed at Front Street Theater, with final performances from May 28 to 31. This app gives Android the automatic dark mode feature it desperately needs

Dark Mode is popular among Android users for its eye protection benefits at night, but scheduled switching can feel limiting. The third-party app Adaptive Theme offers a dynamic solution by toggling between dark and light modes based on ambient light detected by the phone's sensors. It automatically switches to light mode in bright environments and dark mode in dim settings, providing a hands-free experience. The app features a user-friendly interface with a master switch, Brightness Threshold settings, and a Current Brightness display for real-time sensor readings. Adaptive Theme does not require root access but needs permissions typically restricted by Android, which it accesses through the third-party app Shizuku. Users may need to experiment with brightness thresholds to find their ideal settings, and the mode switch only occurs after the device is unlocked. Despite some limitations, Adaptive Theme enhances the user experience and raises questions about why such a feature isn't integrated into stock Android.
